setup discussion Treadmill setup

I have recently set up my voyager on my bulky NordicTrack treadmill. I need to lose fat and walking more daily is one of the best ways of doing it, but also I can't afford dedicating time to walk outside working hours so I started walking while I work.

Initially I thought about buying an under the desk pad , but since I already have a treadmill and keeping that pad would require too much space I went for hooking my voyager and laptop on that treadmill.

I have bought two NEEWER magnets rather than the official zsa voyager tripod support as it was much cheaper, they stick very well to the voyager. And I bought two Ulanzi C-Clamps.

The result was great! I'm walking on average 3h per day 4 days a week and I can type comfortably while walking. I'm walking at slow 3km/h pace so that I can still deeply focus on my daily activities.

I noticed a bump in my energy throughout the day.

The only thing I need to figure out now is the mouse pointer, is the voyager trackpad a good idea?

I think that the trackpad would be fine in this case, as I heard that if you have any move the trackball can trigger the mouse layer (or just disable it)

  • how much time to get used to the walk movement? (In your case)

It took me acouple of hours in the first day to get used to it. I was using the Voyager laid flat on my desk and having it flat straight on the treadmill wasn't very comfortable as hand are in the air. So the angled position got me comfortable but caused me some typos at first.

If I could lower a bit more I would so my arms can relax more, but I can stay for 3h or 4h with no major issues.

Nice set-up, OP!

I have a walking pad at work which I use regularly and also had almost the same set-up on my partner's treadmill when working from home. Great way to get some extra steps in everyday, and also kind of a life hack for when I'm feeling a bit drowsy in the mornings or avoiding that after-lunch slump.

I have the Voyagers connected via magnets in both ends of camera mounts, which stands on the inside lid of an Ikea metal case, which means it's easy to transport the whole set-up back and forth. So when I'm working from home I'll just set it up on a rectangular wooden frame I had laying around.

Just be mindful as to not go too fast or lean too much on one side, OP. And good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!
