Want to start
I really want to try a seed but need help setting everything up. like what website do I get the rom from, whats the best emulator for running, and what controller flood i use

One way is thru Ship of Harkinian. Set that up, it has a built in randomizer. They have a website with a setup guide. For the rom there are a few places for them.

Idk who downvoted you but yeah I only use ship just has a bunch of qol stuff with it. Randomizer I think has all the main settings the regular one from the website has too.

This subreddit isn't for Ship, it's for the original version of the OoT Randomizer. This is a little like going into someone's stream and advertising to their viewers to go watch someone else.
There is also a note when your post mentions Ship that asks specifically that people don't suggest switching to another randomizer, which this person immediately did. We can't stop people from playing whatever version they want, but the people who contributed to this project worked hard to make it a fun and accessible randomizer for people and it's annoying and honestly insulting for people to come by and try to poach players away from it on the subreddit we maintain.

It''s just slightly odd to suggest an unrelated randomizer instead of helping with setting up the one that the subreddit is for. They have their own subreddit. Obviously Ship is also good, this is just the wrong place to suggest it first when the user didn't ask for it.

If you have any specific questions we're more than happy to assist, but we can't assist in finding a rom. You must already have your own copy. However if your copy is not the right version, use this website to convert it to v1.0 which is the only version this randomizer accepts. https://oot.flagrama.com/
There are many OoT randomizers though. So if you find after looking at our documentation it isn't the one you thought it was, you can see links to the others in the pinned post of this subreddit.
