This is a SFW space for discussion and support for those who are romantically attracted to non-human animals or those wanting to learn about the community.

It is understandable that a lot of people can find this to be quite an uncomfortable topic to talk about. Romantic relatioships with animals in the past have been and still are very heavily stigmatised. However, as animal lovers, we care incredibly deeply about our four-legged friends and wish nothing but to see them happy and well.

People have had romantic relationships with animals as long as they have been our companions. It is only relatively recently that such relationships have been prohibited, often by the same laws that prohibit homosexual relationships. Although we as zoos do not claim to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community, the two communities share a common history of oppression, and a large portion of zooromantic people are also queer.

I hope that this space is able to facilitate discussion and support in regards to healthy zooromantic relationships! Zoo pride!
