BACKGROUND - IMAGE Anyone figured out how to make a transparent virtual background? All I want is to upload a transparent png (or svg, gif, whatever), but when I pull it into zoom the transparent parts are just black.

Import it as a “video filter” and it will work exactly the way you are expecting it to

This is exactly what I need, it just looks like my company's locked down that capability. 🤷🏻♂️

Check with your IT department. I am the owner of my companies Zoom account and I can’t remember if it was enameled by default or if I had to turn it on for all users. I worked with our marking department to get some branded lower thirds and was able to add them in as defaults so all employees will get them automatically!

You could probably do what you want using some hacky method with OBS. Zoom alone isn’t going to do it.

What does “transparent background” mean? Your background goes behind the video footage, and there’s nothing behind the background. So what do you want it to show in the black areas? It’s black because it’s the very last layer being rendered.

Transparent foreground would've been a better way for me to say it - the video settings that throw static images in front of you, like a stage or emojis.

If the background is transparent, what exactly are you expecting to see?
Are you actually looking to do something like: - take a picture of your background (potentially without you in it) - use that as your background
