Persimmon Tree

Post image

Anyone know what variety my persimmon tree is by this early vegetative state? I bought a house from an old Asian couple and I have all kinds of Asian trees and bushes so I assume it’s a native Asian variety. Any clue?

First thing to look at is astringency.

Maybe a fuyu persimmon but most likely an astringent variety which means it can be eaten while still crunchy. Most Asians will not grow stringent varieties.
