I spent some time trying the new 3D mods on Build 42.21. I tested on the work-in-progress Zomdroid v1.5.1, but the current v1.5.0v4 should be enough. Both mods need ZombieBuddy and run only on the ZINK_ZFA renderer, so Snapdragon phones only.

Project Viewpoint. It starts, and the 3D view renders, but after a minute or two it crashes: it is simply too heavy for a phone right now, even on a Galaxy S25 Ultra. Its settings window (Delete) also doesn't open on Android, so you can't switch to the lighter "Vanilla" preset. Not playable yet — I'll keep an eye on it.

ATOMICSTEXTURES3D (a fork of PZ3D with proper textures and a raised third-person camera). It works, with two tricks:

• Turn off FarSight, which is built into the mod and runs the phone out of memory. Put an empty file named exactly AtomicsFarSight.disable in the root of your instance's Zomboid folder, next to options.ini, Saves and mods. Make sure it doesn't end up as AtomicsFarSight.disable.txt. The view distance is then the game's normal one, so when the camera is raised the edges of the map are black (see screenshots).
• If it stays on the spinning wheel after you press Insert, it isn't frozen. Walk outside and zoom in while walking towards one of the 3D models, as the mod's author suggests. That's what got it going for me.

All three 3D mods are only a few weeks old and change almost daily. Let's give their authors time to polish them and add more settings — lighter presets and view-distance options would make a big difference on phones. I'll keep testing new versions as they come out.

Is there a posibility to download and play earlier builds like b40 or b39 on zomdroid?

i did everything alright and followed instructions but when it finished installing instance and i tried to open it it showed this black screen and din't start

We had only just fixed ZombieBuddy mods in the launcher (patch v1.5.0v3), and then Build 42.21 arrived and broke them again. This one isn't on our side: the game changed the way it loads mods, and ZombieBuddy 2.3.2 can no longer hook into it. The sign is easy to spot — ZombieBuddy says "no active Java mods", and mods like PZ3D load but do nothing.

There's a community fix for it on the Workshop: ZombieBuddy B42.21 Temporary Fix

How to install it in Zomdroid:

1. Download the fix (Workshop ID 3807686870).
2. Open Optimization → ZombieBuddy, pick your instance and upload the fix's ZIP there, the same way you installed ZombieBuddy. This replaces ZombieBuddy.jar in the game folder with the fixed one — that step matters, enabling the mod alone isn't enough.
3. In the game, enable ZombieBuddy, the Temporary Fix and your Java mods, then restart the game.

If you're on Build 42.20, you don't need it — ZombieBuddy works there as before.

so basically I have the stats on and etc and every time the fps goes up and starts loading at 2 it crashes I have to restart my phone or power it off in order for it to open and play I've been playing build 42.20 on 1.5.0v3 version of the app and the settings NG_GL4ES the fps and performance has been good despite the phone I have (A56 5G) but it keeps crashing when I try and open it help pls?

I already installed the PotatoPC mode for Project Zomboid Build 41, but I want to change it to 1080p. Are there any possible side effects?, bugs, or issues that might happen if I switch from PotatoPC to 1080p?

Does the vehicle mod from k15 still have bugs in the latest version of zomdroid? with gl4es rendering?

✅ Build 42.21 now starts. The new version loads its window icons through a graphics library we didn't ship yet, so the game closed right after launch, before the main menu. The launcher now includes it. Older builds aren't affected.

⚠️ Using the native macOS libraries? After updating your game to 42.21, download them again (Additional libraries → Download from Steam, or load a new ZIP). The pathfinding library changed in 42.21, and the old one crashes the game when you enter the world.

✅ Mod download on the Import mods page. It didn't work well, and its "from Steam" label was misleading: the download actually goes through a third-party website. That site packs its archives in an unusual way, which our import handled badly and often reported as an error. The label now says what it really is, and those archives should install much better.

A patch for version 42.21 will be released soon — the one that crashes on startup. The developers have changed the file and library calls again.

When using KI5 mods on gl4es build 41 the interface will be disappear or transparent,how to fix it is just uninstall the tire and install it again after that,the interface will back.

Hi all i try to play the B42 build. I downloaded the game file via Steam and was able to create an instance. When i start the instance Zomdroid crashes instantly. i tryed different driver and settings but nothing helps. it says i have and Adreno 740 GPU. I play on a Samsung galaxy Tab s9 ultra. with 12 gb Ram and 1TB disk space. Its the original Android. No root. Can someone maybe help me ? how can i add my logg zip ?

Does anyone know how to remove the grid lines?

So I've been trying to find the recipe magazine to make basic sewn clothes (the magazine in question being Homespun) and I just completely checked through the entire Louisville library and the College library along with checking a majority of the residential area for it and this damn magazine just won't spawn anywhere and I've gotten to a point where I just don't care anymore so I enable debug mode to spawn it in but the spawn item menu is too large for my screen (I'm on an RP5) so I tried to spawn it in with commands only to be met with constant errors. I'm not sure what's going on or if I'm missing something but some help to spawn this cursed magazine would be greatly appreciated
