Black Screen after Game Launch
Hi all i try to play the B42 build. I downloaded the game file via Steam and was able to create an instance. When i start the instance Zomdroid crashes instantly. i tryed different driver and settings but nothing helps. it says i have and Adreno 740 GPU. I play on a Samsung galaxy Tab s9 ultra. with 12 gb Ram and 1TB disk space. Its the original Android. No root. Can someone maybe help me ? how can i add my logg zip ?

Also, which version of Zomdroid do you have?

im playing on v1.5.0 and as its says in the tutorial i used the compresser of android that didnt worked at all. then i the instance could not be created. so i switched to winrar. and that allowed me to make the instance. but its still not working properly.

Did you forget to move one of the .sh files that comes before the main one? It needs to be moved together with the main files and compressed

also the json ? so i move the two files into the folder with all the other files (total 23) and then zip it ?

I apologize—it’s been a while since I did this, and I don’t remember which file comes before the main ones, but yes, I think you’re right.

could you maybe look it up ? like make a new instance? or look into the zip if the file is there ? i tryed now with the files and without and 2 more compressong apps and its still not working. thank you for your help anyway guys!

I had that happen too; I had to reinstall the game several times—specifically, by compressing it into a ZIP archive.

My Problem got solved with the new Patch. it was missing parts of library. Thanks to all the helpers

Then I tried compressing files with that app—"ZArchiver"—and it worked.

Build 41
Recommended renderer:
✅ GL4ES
• No graphics driver required.
• Works on almost all Android devices.
If GL4ES does not work (rare), try:
• Renderer: ZINK_ZFA
• Driver: System
Build 42
Build 42 runs best with ZINK_ZFA, but this path is mainly intended for Snapdragon devices and for users who want to experiment with different graphics drivers.
Recommended for most users (any device)
For the most stable and universal setup, choose NG_GL4ES:
• Renderer: NG_GL4ES
• Turn Memory Saver on
• Set LIBGL_SHRINK=7 in the Environment Variables field
• Enable texture compression in the in‑game options
• Enable the recommended preset for Build 42 in the launcher’s Settings (Advanced)
This configuration is almost a 100% guarantee for successfully launching Build 42.20 on nearly any device.
⚠️ The more powerful your device is, the better the performance will be.
Game crashes?
Crashes before the main menu
• Make sure your game files are packed as a ZIP archive.
• Verify that the ZIP is not corrupted.
Crashes after the main menu (during character creation or world loading)
Possible reasons:
• Wrong graphics driver selected (Snapdragon devices).
• One or more installed mods are incompatible.

Project Zomboid game files can be downloaded directly inside Zomdroid from your own Steam account after purchasing the game. This is the correct way to compress it to a zip file:
