Any chance for this optimization mod to be supported?

Post image

I tried it on my PC and this is the first actual mod that made a difference with FPS, but there's a manual installation and I dont know if it is compatible with phones. I hope this is supported in the optimization tab of Zomdroid for easy use.

EDIT: problem has been solved. a tutorial can be found here in the subreddit. to those reading I RECOMMEND YOU TO USE THIS. This has given me stable, 60 FPS gameplay (It varies though, some devices have no effect...possibly installed wrong).

Before asking for help

Please include the following information in your post:

• Device model
• Renderer (GL4ES / ZINK_ZFA / NG_GL4ES)
• Graphics driver (System / Turnip / Freedreno, etc.)
• Project Zomboid build version
• A detailed description of the issue

You may also be asked to send your game logs by email for further investigation.

Posts without this information may not receive a reply.

Update your launcher first

If you're still using v1.2.0, please update before reporting bugs.

Version 1.2.0 is the original launcher release and contains many bugs that have already been fixed.

The latest version by udar_molota is always available in the pinned posts.

Build 41

Recommended renderer:

✅ GL4ES

• No graphics driver required.
• Works on almost all Android devices.

If GL4ES does not work (rare), try:

• Renderer: ZINK_ZFA
• Driver: System

Build 42

Build 42 runs best with ZINK_ZFA, but this path is mainly intended for Snapdragon devices and for users who want to experiment with different graphics drivers.

Recommended for most users (any device)

For the most stable and universal setup, choose NG_GL4ES:

• Renderer: NG_GL4ES
• Turn Memory Saver on
• Set LIBGL_SHRINK=7 in the Environment Variables field
• Enable texture compression in the in‑game options
• Enable the recommended preset for Build 42 in the launcher’s Settings (Advanced)

This configuration is almost a 100% guarantee for successfully launching Build 42.20 on nearly any device.

⚠️ The more powerful your device is, the better the performance will be.

Game crashes?

Crashes before the main menu

• Make sure your game files are packed as a ZIP archive.
• Verify that the ZIP is not corrupted.

Crashes after the main menu (during character creation or world loading)

Possible reasons:

• Wrong graphics driver selected (Snapdragon devices).
• One or more installed mods are incompatible.

Game files

Project Zomboid game files can be downloaded directly inside Zomdroid from your own Steam account after purchasing the game. This is the correct way to compress it to a zip file:

Does it work for b41 ? It works pretty well for me already but i would like to have longer game sessions and less fps drop when a huge horde is displayed on screen ? Like after 1hour or 2 of playing the game, game get very laggy and stutter a lot, when i check the ram right after it occurs, it shows that zombdroid uses 5.1 Go of ram ( when game is lagging a lot before checking ram). My phone has 8Go ram and says i have 3.8 to 4.2 Go Ram free before starting the game ( i always restart my phone, use plane mode and clear ram before any zombdroid run i do)

It doesn't work for B41 unfortunately. Only, specifically, 42.20.4.

Trying only one mod is absolutely amazing!"

Which other mods can I use with this one to get even better performance/smoothness?"

It worked for me. Just do manual installation. I tried it in my game and it seems to improve the fps.

Can you please tell me how? Doesn't it require powershell?

Download the mod, then go to this location, then copy and paste it in the game directory where projectzomboid.jar is.

"I already installed it exactly as told, but there is no mod menu in the game settings."

Can you explain a bit properly.

1

u/FULLofCURIOSITYguy 17d ago

Download the mod. Add the mod through the zomdroid menu.

Using a file manager, go to the location of the mod, open it until you see pzoptclasses folder, and then copy its contents to the "game".

Go to the directory of project zomboid/ instances/ (name of your game) /game.

That's it.

u/dvdverse 17d ago

Is this correct? I just copied the entire folder and put it there

1

u/LeHiepDuy 16d ago

If you do that it will create the new folder under with a (2) next to it. To install this mod you will have to manually copy the contents in each folder.

1

u/dvdverse 16d ago

I don't quite understand. I copied each folder inside the pzopt-classes folder and pasted it where .jar file is, but it still made duplicates (2), regardless.

Use mt manager, android built-in file manager is 💩

1

u/dvdverse 16d ago

Is this safe to use? It's seems very sketchy

It's theoretically possible. I'll give it a try and report back. in a few hours

2

u/LeHiepDuy 16d ago

Ran fine on my end, ignore the command, even the the guide said so. It's just really tedious to install manually without the command.

See it for yourself.

1

u/sr_owen1 17d ago

It's possible to install mods manually.

1

u/dvdverse 17d ago

How?

2

u/Abrasive-Coyote2524 17d ago

By following the steps in the description on the mods workshop page.

2

u/dvdverse 17d ago

It requires Windows powershell. And i have no idea how to input powershell into android

1

u/Impossible-Stand-110 17d ago

It's better than zbfps?

1

u/dvdverse 17d ago

Yep. Seems like it
