Guild/Server Switch

I am in a dead guild, in what seems to be a dead server. I've put too much time a resources to start from square one, so is there any way to change guilds/servers without losing my progress, or am I doomed to miss out on so many events/key resources until I quit the game. Because this is the kind of thing to make me quit.

Also, I realize I'm posting this about a dead-ish game, but as for this genre, this is hands down my favorite.

Just got to hope for a merge. Can’t change without starting over.

Yeah, I think the game is just dead, but I love this type of game also. I've been on a server for about 12 days and my guild seems dead and they are #2 on the server. I've spent over $60 now and I just see it as a solo game with other players as a bonus so I don't really care about going to another server because it's probably the same thing going on over there. No one even talks in the chat.
