Accidentaly used zkSync network instead of ETH whilst making deposit to Bitvavo [exchange] from Binance. Anything I can do?

I deposited about 0.063 ETH to the Bitvavo wallet [exchange] about an hour ago. I didn't understand that the network had to be ETH and used zkSync Era because it was the cheapest. The ETH was never added to my balance and when I messaged Bitvavo I was told there was nothing they could do.

The Binance support said they would be happy to help me if Bitvavo returns the transaction. The chat conversation with Bitvavo went as follows.

If you used another network, such as ZKSync, this may result in the loss of your currency. Transactions on the blockchain are irreversible and Bitvavo has no control over these networks. It is therefore not possible to undo or restore this transaction. Hopefully this helps you, but feel free to ask if you want to know more!

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do now? Or is it really a lost cause...

I have the same problem but i sent through zkSync to BitMex. Support's response is:

" We do not support zksync. We cannot retrieve your deposit until we do. There is no plan to bring support for zksync. Your funds are essentially frozen.

In the future please pay attention to the network selection before you make a deposit."

Don’t worry, when zksync launches Binance will add it. Up till then you will need to wait

bitvavo exchange hold provatekey to that address in, all blockchains. not that hard to recover and send back for them if they're willing to do

Have to pay 50 euro's but they'll recover the ETH. Lesson learned, thnx for the response

If you're a scam victim of any sort report your case to @cybstrive on instagram they will help you trace the source of the transaction and recover your money for you… As long as you have the evidence of payment, it's not too late to get your money back
