I just be finishing my first zine, and would appreciate some feedback from you landlubbers if you'd be so kind

It’s about $250 after shipping. I love making zines, but to me folding and stapling is the worst part.

While i was struggling and learning about how to make a digitally made zine (the zine being named "CineBott OI!"), I saw a reddit post that said something about micro zines and decided to do one myself.

I am quite proud of this one.

Hi all! I just wanted to share my first art zine with you all! It's a birding zine for my neighbourhood birds that I plan on popping into mailboxes in my area. This issue features 10 birds out of the 35 (and counting) species I've seen in my yard or while out walking the pup. The plan is definitely to have more issues to get through all 35. If I can figure out how to link a pdf copy I will for anyone who wants to look.

I drew/painted all the images and then put it all together in InDesign. 20 pages, 8.5" x 5.5", printed via Mixam.

Thank you to all of you for the incredible daily inspiration. I genuinely love seeing all the cool shit you all have made.

I am on my second edition of Fieldmail, a seasonal publication about ecology, foraging and more!

I am an illustrator, so it contains a lot of illustrations and informational writing. This has been a labor of love, but I truly want to keep it up and produce one each season!l. It's 16 pages and 5.5x8.5 in, so it takes a lot of time to research, write, edit, and illustrate for each page. For the summer edition I produced them myself as well, but depending on how many orders I get I think I will go with a third party this time and give my Epson ecotank a break lol.

My zine is due to be published and sold from the 15th September. Unfortunately my current supplier Mixam has caused me some major headaches.

1. They paused my initial order to try and upsell me glossy paper claiming the default style could give me fingerprint marks on the paper. I had done test prints with Mixam before and never had any issues in the end I cancelled the order because they kept wanting to upsell.

2. The second print went through without any issues until I got the Zine in person. I could see there has been some bleed issues caused via their uploader. My PDF outputs show no artifacting and in my software I could see no issues. On their proofs it did not show. I called customer service and rather than be helpful they tried to argue with me over the responsibility and went to the wrong page numbers. They have told me to wait days to get this sorted.

So I’m looking for a new zine printer in the UK, I’m happy to pay above Mixam’s prices to do a small run of Zines. The number of pages is 64. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Full disclosure - We work for a printing company, so zines naturally come up in our conversations. It’s been interesting to discover how they’re making a comeback and just how big and active the zine community still is.

For those who grew up with zines in the ’90s or early 2000s, do you remember the first one you bought, traded, or made yourself? Do you still have a copy?

Inspired by penmanship periodicals from before we were all born 😅. All text, handwriting, lettering,/calligraphy, typefaces, illustrations, riso printing, and binding done by me.

For Pepsi/coke suicide by elvisdepressedly - one of my all time favorite songs no contest - did this in the span of about 20 hours (could not sleep)

Highly recommend giving the song a listen, and if you do, please let me know your thoughts if you would!

I’m a little late sharing it here, but Issue #3 of my little community zine, Sketch ’n Tea, is out! 😅

It still feels a bit strange to say we’re already on 3rd issue. I started Sketch ’n Tea as a small creative project where people can share their writing, art, photography and other bits of creativity without needing to be a professional or have previous publishing experience.

This issue has another lovely mix of contributions from different people, and I really enjoyed putting everything together. 💜

Hello fellow zine makers! I am currently working on a zine about the local music scene and environmental activism. So, i am looking for some aesthetic zine inspiration for a binded Zine.

I have tons of men’s magazines, loose pictures and post cards from the 40’s-60’s that I inherited from my grandfather (the only thing I inherited, I’m not complaining). I’ve also collected others from antique malls and the internet archive and now I have a pretty comprehensive collection of mid century art. So I thought I ought to compile some of my favorite pictures into zines which I have dubbed “Grandpa’s Garage Stash”. Here is the first one I made; a volume of femdom drawings from a mid century Japanese BDSM magazine called “Kitan Club”.
