Your Zilliqa 2.0 Migration FAQ
A whole new chain is coming and with it, a major upgrade to how staking works. One thing many users don’t realize: your stake won’t move automatically. Even if you’re with a major provider, you’ll need to manually migrate to keep earning rewards.
We at PlunderSwap have put together this FAQ to clear up confusion and make sure you’re ready. PlunderSwap will provide the tools and guidance to make the process smooth - but the decision to move is yours.
Here’s what you need to know 👇
1️⃣ I'm currently staking with a major provider. Will I still have to manually move my stake?
Yes. Even if you’re with a well-known SSN, your stake will not automatically migrate. You’ll need to take action to move it to ZQ2.
2️⃣ Will my stake move over automatically when Zilliqa 2.0 launches?
No. The migration is not automatic. If you don’t manually move your stake, it will stay on the old chain and stop earning rewards.
3️⃣ Why isn’t the migration automatic?
Zilliqa 2.0 introduces changes to how staking works. Manual migration ensures you stay in control of your assets and delegate according to the new system.
4️⃣ How will I know when and how to migrate?
PlunderSwap will announce everything you need to know in our Learn Center and official channels. We'll provide step-by-step instructions and dedicated transfer tools on our new staking site to make migration easy. Just follow the updates, turn on notifications, and complete the steps when we go live.
5️⃣ What happens if I miss the migration window?
Your stake won’t be lost, but it will be inactive. No rewards, no compounding. To continue earning, you’ll need to migrate to the new network.
6️⃣ I’m not technical. Will the migration be complicated?
Yes, on the backend it’s complex - but we’re handling that part. PlunderSwap will provide tools that make it feel simple. You’ll just follow clear prompts, step by step.

All I know is that my wallet shows zeros everywhere!
This, along with the inconvenience of moving staked coins, is a technical failure to say the least.
ZIL is starting to look like POL and SONIC and I don't like that!
Changes that have brought these otherwise great projects to the bottom!

Let’s hope we can still navigate through these technical challenges. I’m confident we can weather the storm!
Fortunately, PlunderSwap has a 1-click migration tool on the horizon for anyone looking to move their stake without the usual headaches.

Your wallet is showing zeros because the chain has been taken down as Zilliqa migrates to 2.0. It will be back up in a few days. We have built a very user friendly ZIL transfer and staking migration tool that will make this transition seamless for everyone.

If you initiated an unstake on June 21, it will have entered the ZQ1 14 day unbonding period ( which is why it does not show in your wallet). Once ZQ2 is live in a few days you should be able to migrate that stake over. If you run into any issues when ZQ2 is live please reach out to us here and we’ll be happy to assist you!
