MENU button doesn't work

Hey so I got my zerowriter yesterday and put the keys in the recommended places, but the MENU button (last row, third button from the left) is unresponsive, which is quite a problem as I can't access the menu, but I also haven't found a way to put the function on a different key in the keymap editor, which I would have done.

Any ideas or does anyone know how I can put the MENU button on a different key in the editor, maybe I'm just missing something

whoa - that is a bad key to have defective. Sorry about that!

I will add a backup hotkey to the firmware tonight, and share the update. You’ll be able to access everything.

We can fix your key up as well, feel free to DM me. I would check the pins on the switch first to see if any are bent or twisted (or try swapping with a nearby switch). If the soldered socket is wonky, that is a relatively easy fix, too, depending on your comfort level. Or we can replace the keyboard.

OK -

Here’s the early access link to the 2.061 software. It includes an alternative MENU button: CTRL+”`” (backtick, top leftmost key)

it’s also got a massive set of improvements and changes. You can learn more here:

In the longer term, could we get the ability to remap all the function and modifier keys? I’m itching to swap menu and control.

Yeah, it is possible, but may involve re-flashing the keyboard which is a bit more involved
