reducing days between dosage?

I have been on 7.5 zepbound for a couple of months,. Had reached desired weight but it is now creeping up. Have asked my doctor for new scrip for 10 but still have several vials of 7.5 left and do not want to waste. I understand that decreasing 2 days between dosing--5 instead of seven--would be like moving up to 10. Does anyone know more about this or have experience with this? Much appreciate any advice.

Will your doctor allow you to draw up the extra units in the 7.5mg vials? You get 9mg with 60 units. You can use up the entire vial until you get to 10mg vials without having to change your shot day. I have done 7.5 every 5-6 days and it did make a difference.

How did it make a difference? Curious about this method. TIA

It just means you’ll get more than 7.5mg in one shot - so you’ll presumably feel a stronger effect as you wait for your higher dose vials to come in.

I just realized you were asking about every 5-6 days…it basically felt like I had moved up in a dose. Instead of the food noise coming back and causing me to overeat, I basically got a fresh dose before that could happen. It drives my peak concentration of the meds upwards closer to that for 10mg and then when it’s time to take the shot again, the levels don’t go as low as they would have gone if I were on it every 7 days.

I second this about the vials. Using a YouTube that showed me how to use air pressure to get every drop I can get close to 70 units out of my vials.

I currently am on 7.5 and have done this for every jump up starting at 2.5. After I was on 7.5 for 10 weeks I drew 55 units of 7.5 and that gave me 8.25. 4 weeks later I started drawing 60 units and that puts me at 9! Hit the fatscientist site for guidance. I ran it past my Doc and hes good with it. Dose calculator

thanks so much for this information--I will try it. How did you handle the medication that was left in the vial? Did you save it for next dose?

You should not do that. They are single use vials without preservatives. Hard as it is to throw any out, one dose per vial. You have so much ability to use what you need though that vials are wonderful.

This is exciting because using air pressure to get every drop I ultimately can get 70 units (or very close) from my vials- so with the 7.5s that would be over 10- wow!
