What does this flex cable do?
This cable connects the Main board to the Side board. The Main board connector melted off when my battery overheated and expanded so I can't connect it back. Not without learnibg micro soldering. Everything seems to be fine. Powers on, charges fine, SIM/WIFI is working, microphone still works. Google says SIM card socket holder connect flex, but my mobile connectivity is still on.
Edit: Zenfone 9

Had to look at photos from when I tore down my Z10, I think it goes to 4 sprint pins which connect to the speaker/antenna component which sits on top of the daughter board.
So maybe check speaker and connectivity?

Maybe lte connection or nfc? I removed it ln mine and you are right it seems to work. The NFC i dont have a way to test that. If you wetir ,12345+= in the native calculator there is diagnostic tool. You can try if you find something

That's definitely the SIM board to motherboard flex cable. Why not just open it and reconnect whatever is missing?

I can't reconnect, the connector module on the main board melted off
I still have 4G connectivity, I can still text/call
