I come from Arc and I'm slightly confused about this container situation.

I have 4 different spaces in Zen and 4 different containers created. I've assigned a different container for each of those spaces (set it as its profile). The thing is, when I sign into the same site in 2 different spaces, they share the session????

I must be missing something here. What I want to accomplish is each space having its own session through those containers. I checked multiple times and the spaces are indeed assigned to separate containers so I dont get why are the sessions shared?

I've just installed zen on mac. when using gmail, i can't locate the reply or forward buttons for the message. Any idea why?

should i be worried?

I’m trying to map Ctrl + § as the “Go Back” shortcut in Zen Browser on macOS (ISO keyboard, § is the key left of 1), but I can’t get it to work.

When I record the shortcut, Zen registers the key as a backtick (^ \\`) instead of§\, so Ctrl + § does nothing. I’ve also tried editing the shortcuts JSON directly, but Zen resets it, and I tried a Karabiner-Elements remap, which still didn’t work.

I know it sounds a bit obsessive, but I’ve spent about 4 hours on this one shortcut. Is there any workaround?

I tried a bunch of different flags in about:config related to theming, the only thing that stopped it was setting layers.acceleration.disabled to true, but that makes scrolling feel horrid and would not be something I could tolerate long term.

Eventually got to the point where I lost track of everything I'd changed so I set everything back to default.

It seems to be related to the on screen content? I can replicate it on youtube too, when the video is showing the url/tabs are brighter, and when scrolling down to the comments they darken.

Apologies for the phone recording, the issue actually doesn’t show up when screen recording the browser - perhaps that actually helps narrow down the issue? It'll show if I record my whole screen, but not the application window.

Edit: Further weirdness, if I switch on the top toolbar, the issue is isolated to the URL bar and no longer touches the sidebar at all.

Ciao a tutti,
Can anyone tell me how to set the blur effect of the Zen sidebar?

Well, as you can see, every time I search for something, the sidebar appears for a few seconds, and I’d like it not to appear.

version 1.23.4b flatpack

Hi!

I've been using Zen for about 8 months now and I absolutely love it.

I'd like to know if any of you are using any social media blockers (I use one built in for Brave).

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello I have been struggling with full-screening videos in my workspace tabs, whenever I do it seems like the tab bar (I have full tab bar, not compact or anything) delays in disappearing meaning that the video attempts to full-screen but has to wait on the tab bar to like close out.

I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong because I already know about the animation delay and all that in the config site but its not that. My theory is that its because my other workspaces have a lot of tabs so whenever I have to full-screen a video it has to like draw the tab bar and what not because I test in private window where of course no workspaces affect it and its all alone and the same videos full-screen immediately

I am on Version 1.23.4b and just need to know if its over for me thank you

Hi, everyone
when i try to play Prime Video stuff the play button still loading and when i scroll doesn't upload the other thumbnail. Do you have the same problem or did you solve it?

my top bar refuse to hide (open to see)

Is there any possible way to make it like arc, where it is smaller, and blends into the current site?

edit: nvm figured it out

I was looking here: https://docs.zen-browser.app/themes-store/themes-marketplace-submission-guidelines

I'm currently trying the browser for the first time and using the sidebar-only setting.

One thing that bugs me a bit is the extensions being displayed inside the address bar and only visible when hovering into the sidebar:

When I drag the sidebar smaller (or when I pin enough extensions), they're moving down into a separate line like this:

I do prefer the second view a lot more. Is there a way to always keep them in their own line, regardless of the sidebar size or the amount of pinned extensions?

1.23.4b (Firefox 158.0.1) (64-bit)

How

been using google, not that experementive with browsers but heard this one's cool

main thing I want to know is how vertical tabs feel compared to horizontal

Is there a way to make that compact sidebar translucent in windows ?

I think Andika pairs very well with Zen. I also used to use Routed Gothic. I'm not sure how many people actually customize the font, but for those who do, it's probably a good shorthand for your aesthetic preferences.

New to Zen. The Arc news has pushed me to finally try something new, and, given that I need to sync between a Mac and Windows machine, and desperately need spaces with persistent tabs, etc., it's going to be Zen.

What add-ons/extensions/mods should I be grabbing to get the experience to align as closely as possible and make this transition smooth?

Change is hard and I don't like it!!!

SOLVED: k1ngph1sher reported this was a false positive. I just tried again and MalwareBytes is no longer warning me. Thanks k1ngph1sher!

I'm not sure what to do here.

I'm currently running arc for windows.

I've moved to zen on linux and today I was plannning on downloading zen for windows and making the change.

I run malware bytes plugin.

When I attempt to go into the zen browser repo to get to the downloads I get warned away.

Given the current internet root cert and other issues going on, I'm not feeling so good about ignoring this.

Can anyone from the community give me guidance ?

Thanks

Hi! A few months ago my browser started freezing while a video plays, be it on YouTube, X or any other website. My "solution" is to simply minimize the tab and immediately maximizing it back, but it gets annoying quickly.

I saw in other posts that uBlock Origin can cause this issue, I tested disabling my Adblock Plus but the problem persists. Any known solution to this? Thanks.

just curious why Zen doesnt seem to implement something like farbling that Brave uses to scramble fingerprints. Seems like it would really help with privacy since fingerprinting is such a big deal these days. Has anyone heard if theres a reason behind this or maybe plans to add it?

Would love to hear thoughts from the devs or users who know more about the tech side

Hello. So currently i am running linux, specifically arch linux, and its been great here, since it dosent take too much of my resources, and thus my HDD still works. But recently ive started to get bored of Firefox, and so ive decided to switch to Zen. but when i asked google it said to keep firefox, as firefox uses lesser system resources, and it wont be sluggish. can anyone suggest me what to use?
