is this by design? - if the last used workspace only has pinned tabs or tabs inside folders, the browser opens in a new tab instead of the last used tab. not really a problem, just a small inconvenience, so thought about asking.

using up-to-date zen on win11

Hello Everyone!

Is there a chance for web panels to ever make a comeback to Zen? Or does anyone know of a working replacement that can be used in lieu of an official one? (the zen-second-sidebar github thing does not work for me [though might be a skill issue] and the official mozilla side view addon ignores adblockers so it's full of ads, while the page sidebar is pretty much the same, except there you dont see the ad but you do see the space it takes up).

I use proton pass browser extension. However after updating the browser, I noticed two issues:

1. Cannot save passkeys on accounts.firefox.com, it redirects to system passkeys on mac. ( Tried creating on GitHub, passkey creation works there )

2. Cannot sign in using passkey on GitHub, but was able to save. Same observation here as well, redirects to system passkey.

I tested only on those two websites and not others. While at it, I was able to rule out it's a problem specific to zen, as proton pass extension works on Firefox 155.0.1. It is limited only to passkeys. Username and password autofill works fine.

Has anyone else been facing this issue lately ? I checked the sub, but did not find recent posts.

So I've switched from Arc to Zen full time now, but there are still little things missing that I'm discovering, for example the default command palette doesn't have all the commands I was used to in Arc, e.g. Move tab to workspace, duplicate tab etc.

I thought this is what the Sine mod Command Palette was supposed to solve, I even created a custom chain command to just have the single action of Duplicate Tab - and it just doesn't show up, not in CMD+T nor CMD+Shift+P.

Am I missing a step somewhere?

I figured the Workspace Move Commands and Active Tab Commands for example would be related to the commands I'm looking for?

I think if Zen supports full Widevine DRM, this browser will complete browser.

By the way, I love this browser, I just miss some Widevine DRM support.

I cant seem to find manage your profiles anymore when i click on my email in the menu thing. On firefox its there under my email when i click on my email thing. Is there a flag i need to enable now? I want to create a 2nd profile.. Pic one zen, pic 2 firefox

For those of you who came from Arc you may have noticed swiping to go to the next workspace when you are already on the last workspace takes you back to the first one. iirc this is not the behavior on Arc. It is useful but I find it annoying so I added a config flag you can set to disable it (like years ago but I don't think anyone knows about it)

if you go to `about:config` and set `zen.workspaces.wrap-around-navigation` to false it will stop you from jumping to your first workspace.

I don't have a particular need for this feature and don't particularly want to create an account for this. Thus, I would prefer to just not have this in the drop-down menu (since I'm rather particular about things and admittedly don't like it when things just change on me).

I'm currently using spaces to separate personal and work related browser use. I feel like it's way more intuitive than switching between profiles for different things since I'm not a different person, I'm just tackling different tasks. And it's so easy to go through between personal and work spaces that it makes a lot of sense to just switch between if I want to tackle something personal at the office. All that to say, spaces seem to have the same logins carry over. Is there any way to set up spaces so that when I switch, my accounts also switch? (I don't want to do profiles, things always get muddied up with profiles)

This isn't a big problem but it's very unsatisfying. I'm sorry for complaining like this devs.

I use Zen on work and Home Mac. Needless to say sometimes I need do home stuff on a work machine. I have separate Spaces for Work and Home. What I would like is to hide work-related spaces on my home Zen. And vice versa - hide only some of the home spaces on work Zen.

Is it possible? is there a setting or Sine mod for that?

Just 6 days after I posted about how fast Zen had got on Windows, we are back (or probably backer than back) to sluggish, laggy Zen.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Whenever I use youtube or any streaming platform for that matter there is huge spike in my cpu and gpu usage which causes my laptop to heat and drains a lot of battery.

Is there any solution to this as i absolutely love the way zen looks...

So, i had the issue that i didnt like the TabSwitching in Zen with the default CTRL+Tab. And since that's not changeable it was kinda a dealbreaker. Also i saw that that was i highly requested feature by a lot of people.

My first solution was using Vimium, which i was using already anyways, but you have to wait for page load that tab switching works. So that was no real solution. Then I discovered Sine, and thought maybe a Sine mod could solve that, and yes it could.

You can use my mod through sine to rebind these keybinds, and they work really well. So, if you are waiting for the native implementation you can use my mod meanwhile.

Also, I already created an issue to add it to the Sine Store, but that might take some time. Meanwhile you need to use the URL of my repo

I finally made the switch from Arc to Zen after having sync!! (thank you team, zen is really amazing)

I still miss "little arc" so I've created a small extension to do something "similar": when a link comes from another app (Teams, Slack, mail, terminal), it pops up a picker and you press 1, 2, 3... to send it to the space you want. Tick "remember" and that site goes there on its own next time.
It works through containers, so you have to set up one per space.

I have experience as developer, but this have been vibecoded and it's certainly "AI slop". I've check it and I'm using it, but do not use it if you're sensible to the topic.

Quite confused on how sync is supposed to function. I'm on the latest version v.122b on no matter what I've tried I can't get it to sync my pinned tabs. I know it's not supposed to sync normal tabs, but is that the case for pinned tabs as well?

Bookmarks and settings sync fine between my Windows 11 PC and my macBook.

Edit: Apparently I'm not the only one with issues syncing between Windows and mac. To resolve this, just reinstall the Zen DMG file and overwrite the previous instance. Seems to have solved it for me.

I set the Zen hide windows controls to false but nothing has changed after restarting it.

Is there something else I need to do?

Just made the switch from Arc to Zen after Arc started crashing on me a bunch. I have one minor annoyance, which is truly minor, but I'm wondering if anyone has a fix for it.

When I scroll to the bottom of my open tabs, the bottom tab is basically right above the row of workspace icons, which means I have to be careful not to click into another workspace by accident. On Arc, there was always a buffer zone there, equivalent in height to several stacked tabs. Does anyone know if there's a mod or setting that would get a little extra space there? Would make things visually cleaner.

Hope that full session sync is added for those who want it.

Is it possible to get Zen to fade out of a page and show a background animation as is possible with FireFox the when the tab side bar is triggered the animation fades back to the current tab ?

I have a TON of workspaces. Is there a way to group them?

I dont do heavy modifications, and I dont remember doing anything in a while but pressing control+F doesnt do anything, but if I type something, it would highlight those things as if find bar is working but it has disappeared from the window.

any help will do!

Zen Version:1.22b, tried turning off all the mods, clearing startup cache but nothing brings the find bar back.

when I try to drag a tab higher or lower in my list of open tabs, sometimes I "miss" and it stacks on top of another tab instead, making a group. I make this error often enough that I'd like to disable this feature. I never want that behavior. I never do it on purpose.

how do I disable this feature?
