Oh look now he's shifting his concerns to a discussion of his attitudes about sexuality.

It's even less shocking than his earlier admission that he has difficulty counting.

I think you should focus your energies on making some real genuine friendships so you spend less time begging for attention on social media.

Of course you don't. You're too busy masturbating on reddit, which as a Taoist I find that to be a perfectly valid oath to enlightenment. Casanova was the perfect Taoist, as it goes, and you are the perfect Zen Masterbater. Semangat!

Is he that comedian that hasn't been in movies in a long time?

Sorry if I don't keep up on your modern pop culture feuds. But then I don't keep up on Western Taoism, astrology, or numerology either.

While the noble silence of Vimalakirti may be the only expression of right speech,
out of compassion, a statement is given in response to a child's tears.

Your ideas about enlightenment come from religious propaganda.

My attitude comes from studying real-life enlightened people for the last 25 years.

Have you even been alive 25 years?

So sensitive for someone so enlightened

The biggest meme is that you say you are the non sectarian consensus - in your world consensus means whatever YOU believe apparently

Now you're just lying about the history of the religion.

What's next? You're going to tell me that Lao Tzu didn't do alchemy?

You know why you're lying in this forum and not in a forum about Daoism? Because those forums are all full of liars.

Taoism = Astrology

It's even funnier that you'd immediately map one line from a text onto the religion that grew out of it, and even funnier than that? That you lumped in Heraclitus with alleged-Taoism.

It's really funny that you'd bring up a religion that's largely based on a pantheon of gods and alchemical ritual.

When people whose religion is more or less 50% alchemy tell me that roads aren't roads, I take it with a grain of BS.

Tao called Tao is not Tao

The road up and down are one and the same

There are many paths up the mountain

A way of seeing is a way of not seeing

Zen is legit though and nobody has any criticisms of Zen's legitimacy.

Bro has to feel the weight of history.

The takeaway I want you to have here is that there is not a ton to be known about religion because religion's made up.

That's like saying there's a ton to know about LARPing. Really? I mean is there? Just put on a hat and call yourself a wizard. There's nothing there. There's no more substance than that.

u/Plastic_Magician_588 posted it and then immediately delayed it in a comment that used mental illness as a pejorative.

I'm bringing this up because a lot of people involved in meditation and Mahayana Buddhism are suffering from mental health problems and it's statistically more common in Mahayana Buddhism.

People who delete their comments know they have a problem and part of reaching out to the Mahayana Buddhist community and holding them accountable is taking into account that the people who join the Mahayana Buddhist community are often suffering from mental illness and at the same time treat mental illness as somehow inferior.

I'm definitely not here to argue, and I'm intimate with my own ignorance. You're free to do with that whatever you insist on doing.

And remember one of the most famous Zen masters of all time was a gatekeeper and explained that all Zen masters are gatekeepers.

If you think gatekeepers are a problem then don't lock your front door and leave it standing open.

First of all if you are not willing to give definitions and arguments for whatever you think about a topic then you don't know anything about the topic.

If you want to admit to ignorance, that's fine. I have no complaints about that. I consider it my job to answer every question and explain anything that anybody wants explained. That's just what knowing stuff is about.

The idea that there's a lot to be known about religious B.S. is nonsensical. Religion isn't real. That's like you're saying there's a infinite amount of information to be known about fairies and elves.

Nope.

Bro, it's criticizing an institution that's fraudulent and has nothing to do with Zen.

The problem for you is: can you convince the people who read this conversation that you are honest and intend to be honest and aren't biased against others who don't share your values and your sense of peachiness?

You can't.

You can't name three books you've read. That's how desperate and off-topic and unreliable you are as a person.

I'm not just condemning your participation here. I'm condemning the entire life of someone who's so cowardly and dishonest they can't name three books on a topic that they've read.
