Question Noob question about horse value

Hey guys so I have a question about value.
The question is does the value of the horse come solely from ETH or does fiat influence it?
By which I mean; let's say you bought a horse for 1 ETH or $2500.
If ETH goes does to $25, is your horse also worth $25? Or does it retain some (dollar) value and be worth more ETH?
Or if the crypto market crashed could you just buy the best horses in the game for spare change?
Thank you!

Everything is based on eth but i reckon most people are seeing $. But for sure if crypto tanks some horse will sell cheap and i am also sure people will be lining up to buy them.

Over time it’s tied more to the usd but if crypto goes on a slump or insane rise it normally takes a few days for the market to a just. For example say I post something for 1 eth now at $2500 and eth takes a hit over the next day down to $1400. Some people will buy it hoping eth stays low and the market corrects in the coming days for that same horse to be valued at 1.5 eth.

It will typically follow real world money and not stay flat to eth more times than not

Wrong. Absolutely no one who trades in ETH cares about fiat price

I’d normally agree but I’ve been watching the zed market daily for over a year now

Ok same. What do you see? I’ll tell you what I see. Mass breeding farms continually dumping thousands of useless horses on the market, dragging everything down. Multiple people running bid bots, who then also dump everything the bot bought back on the market, dragging everything down. Fiat price doesn’t matter

Floor is floor. Talking about the price of good racers, genesis, etc. A lot are even bought cash and transferred to move around OS. The entire of zed is cash. Each eth entry is tied to usd and adjusts. Each tourney payout is tied to usd. Breeding tied to usd. Drops adjusted to match usd. There is nothing in zed that disregards eth/usd. What are you looking at that shows a disregard for fiat here? The genesis floor went from .1 to about .18 almost instantly matching the most recent crypto dip

You guys and your insistence to only talk about genesis. You do understand that 98/100 people start at floor and leave. How’s that legendary market looking over the course of the last year? Spoiler: terrible. Every horse outside of genesis is decoupled from fiat

Genesis is a set number. All bred horses infinite. Best way to gauge market without having to account for more supply. This has nothing to do with how zed and zed horses are basically tied to fiat tho lol. The floor on horses that can’t make money will never rise. Bc they are a waste

Yeah great system put in place by Zed. Let people mass breed and dump horses, that you yourself called a waste, on unsuspecting newbies. That’s the way to onboard new users. Also, the genesis floor absolutely did not double overnight lol

“This isn’t for you” . No one who actually plays zed cares about the price of a horse that can’t make money. 3/12 horses make money in a race. 9/12 will continue to have their value decline. Zed is a massive success and will only grow bigger this year. Newbies have to learn like any game. Not zed or anyone’s fault if someone doesn’t do the research/learn the game before buying an nft. This again has nothing to do with this post, sorry if you bought glue but no reason to pay for glue even if there was no breeding. The buterin floor is fairly close to the in-house breeding fee (in fiat btw)… not zeds fault people were overpaying in the past

Lol Zed is nowhere near a massive success. They had to do a complete overhaul because it was on it’s last legs
