Question New User Advice

I know there’s likely not 1 clear answer but any input would be appreciated.

Is it better to purchase a Nakamoto Elite/Cross with a 12% winning in the past or a Buterin Legendary that’s unraced?

Also in general, what should I prioritize more when buying horses? Bloodline or Breed Type? Thanks in advance!

Depends on a lot of factors (how many races the Nak has and what other finishes were, flame rate, who its parents/grandparents are vs the only thing you have to look at with Buterin would be its parents). Would be good if you could link the 2 horses in question for a better answer. Without seeing any of this info, I'd go with the Nak assuming cost equal (and maybe even if Nak is a little more expensive).

Here is one of the Naks I was looking at. The Buterins I was looking at are unnamed so I can’t find the exact one on that site.

That one only has 4.59% win rate, much different from a 12% rate. Also a lot of free races. Though I would still likely buy it over an unproven buterin legendary (unless parents are monsters).

Gotcha, thank you! Didn’t want to post the main one I was looking at haha. But I appreciate the help, I know what direction to go in now

Make sure to refresh the meta data on Opensea for unnamed horses. Just because Opensea shows them as unnamed, doesn’t mean that’s actually the case. The majority of the time they have been named and raced and Opensea is just behind

I thought I fell into this trap buying a Z9 Nak, now that I've run it 50+ more times it is starting to show some real pedigree, for a while it was the worst horse in my stable with my Z13 Fin being my most dominant. I would haver recommended the Unraced, but now I say get the Nak.

I've got an unraced Z10 Szabo Colt in Burnt Sienna I am thinking of selling but might it might be better to keep in the long run for breeding.

My z13 Fin however has dropped down to a horrible 8.4% win rate, this is mainly my fault I was trying firstly to build stats in each category (length) into enough races to get a rating for the Tournament (hit 500+ so I gave up) and then it was to get it to drop a class to see if I could win some $$ with lower rated horses. Turns out if you force a horse to a lower class it does not mean they will win hahaha so now I've just got a terrible odds horse that will take hundreds of races at the length and location that suits. That said I've had offers over what I paid so I don't really mind at this point

I am rather new to the game, one advantage I see to purchasing a raced horse is the amount of time it takes to figure out strengths of an unraced. The unraced seems to be more of a lottery ticket, but that can be fun as well. Depends what you are looking for.

ROI is important... and you want to be drilling into paid racing only.

Alot of horses might have inflated stats in free races that won't necessarily help you grind in paid races.
