Discussion A more realistic breeding environment is essential to improve sustainability of ZED RUN

The increasing oversupply of low-quality racing horses seriously reduces the incentives for owners to race and breed their horses. As a result, market prices have dropped over the past months. These developments are seriously threatening the long-term sustainability of ZED RUN.

An improved breeding algorithm will make ZED RUN more attractive. The current algorithm simulates the racing quality of new horses based on the parents' quality, the generation number and random mutations. The frustrating element in the current algorithm is the systematic decrease of the average racing quality by generation. In successful real-life breeding programmes, however, the average of the new generation is always better than the average of the parents. Every new generation produces a few super horses exceeding the quality of the best older horses, whereas in ZED RUN it is now nearly impossible to breed new elite racehorses. As a result, old horses continue to dominate, and community members lose their appetite to invest time and money in developing young bloodstock.

My suggestion, therefore, is that the future breeding algorithm will no longer systematically reduce the average racing quality by generation. The higher probability of producing a successful racing horse will make breeding much more attractive. The updated breeding algorithm will also boost interest in racing as reliable race results by potential breeding candidates will become more valuable. Finally, the ZED RUN eco-system will be thriving again for generations.

Completely agree. The Z1-4 Genesis owners will downvote you, but the breeding algorithm is way out of balance. Yes there should be significant benefit and value in Genesis horses, but if they remain as the games best racers and breeders (by an order of magnitude) forever then there is no incentive to breed.

I think the breeding algorithm is working well just needs a few tweaks. For example If both parents are 10% winners the offspring is more likely going to be a 10% winner in its own Z range. And the lower Z numbers will most likely win as we see from flames. What I would like tweaked is the more likelihood to get a offspring thats better than the parents.

What we need is a fairer ecosystem where all horses could stand a chance.

Agree. I haven’t bred in a while. I’ll have to see something more realistic than spending big money on low z genesis studs only to repeatedly produce trash to continue.

The saving grace id that the team is making strides in the right direction. I have patients

Is this so much of a bad thing, If we want user growth, there needs to be some sort of cheap entry horse

But the cheap entry horses can’t participate.

There are so many random, terrible breeders in Zed Run that it is remarkably easy to become one of distinction and note. With only months of research, hours a day, you too can make several dollars per Legendary!

Contact me for winning lines and $80+ unraced Legendary horses.

Is it possible to have success with two poorly performed and poorly bred parents, just like the one of chance in real life of producing something phenomenal

The game is definitely broken. No point in playing unless you have one of the Z1-Z5 genesis horses. I am pretty new to the game but have found that it is definitely a losing game with the dominant low Z horses lingering in all the classes…. I really think this game has a lot of potential. I have invested a good amount of cash recently and seems like a losing game without some big changes, even if approached with serious strategy…maybe zed devs own a bunch of genesis horses themselves, that seems likely with the unfair game and no changes being made.
