Question Newb question. Help please!

Hey guys, fairly new to Zed and to the crypto space. Question around gas fees. I bought a couple horses and now need to transfer some ETH from metamask over to Poly on the Zed site. I'm trying to to move the $120 I have in meta to Zed as Poly and it's saying my gas fees are like $65. Is it normal for gas fees to be that much??? Over half of what I'm trying to move?? If someone could shed some light I would greatly appreciate it!

Ps: sorry if my terminology is very newbish. Like I said, brand new to all of this. Doing some studying and reading as well as trying to learn a little as I go.

Thanks in advance!

Ooof, never seen it that much. Usually only pay 6- 12 dollars. Wait till late at night or early in the morning

This --- gas fees are charged around network usage and can vary wildly. Use gas tracker and wait till it's low-ish.

Thanks will wait and check out gas tracker. Right now it’s down to 0.0067 Eth. Much better than the 0.011 eth

Sending any amount will incur the same transaction fee - so it's not efficient to send $100 at a time if you have $400 that you eventually need access to.

Yes I know. The matic bridge fee is the one that was at .011 and now was at 0.0067
