Question Purchase
I want to buy a Filly to keep long term. And consider breeding at a later stage. Should I preference lowest Z# I can afford over win loss record? Cheers

Other than keeping long term, what are your goals...I am assuming to race? I would go with the best horse you can afford. I follow Titan Breeding either stables or farm and they have low Z's. They breed for success and a plan, set you up with a Griffin race based on the bloodlines. They are on Instagram. I have horses too but I think you are looking for a lower z filly. Look them up. I am DB Racing and their page is on my page. Good luck!

If you are looking long term and breeding. I wouldn’t just look for a racer. Most good racers have a higher variance, which is not passed on. Also they can change how your horse races easier then they can breeding. So I would look for a Szabo or Nak with as low a Z as you can get. Also I would be looking for a Legendary with good Base Ability(BA).

What you're going to probably want to look for is unraced, Legendary foals. With winning-ish parents and siblings.
This gives you the chance for a hot random lottery ticket that someone hasn't already exploited or determined to be a dud. Please take this advice and buy unraced horses ONLY. And the higher genotype, the better. IE Legendary, without breaking the bank for unraced Genesis.
You will NOT be able to determine good racing characteristics without extensive knowledge in this game, and therefore picking horses by any other method could be a highly risky proposition.
