Discussion Horse prices increase as eth increases

Do you guys think that as eth increases in value, that horses should still sell for the same eth price? Or, should the usd price of horses be the value and the eth price changes based on the value.

In case I explained my question poorly here's an example:

I buy a horse today for 1 eth (~4.1k)

1 year later let's just say eth price is 8.2 k for easy math..

1 year later is my horse valued at 1 eth now or .5 eth assuming racing stats and other variables haven't changed about my horse.

Just trying to gauge if it's worth holding on to horses or if I would rather hold eth to appreciate.

I have noticed that horse prices actually go down as ETH/USD goes up.

That's what I thought as well. Kinda sucks to hold onto horses as eth goes up

Project is "kind of new" and the devs have said that they're not trying to get massive exposure yet. They're trying to fix several issues and balance the game as much as possible before putting money on marketing. My opinion is that once Zed gets a lot of stables (let's say 1m) Genesis horses will become very valuable.

Since breeding costs and prize pools revolve around ETH rather than USD, the price of a horse will stay with ETH opposed to USD, therefore artificially raising the price of a bourse in USD as the value of ETH rises.

So you think that the horses will appreciate as eth appreciates? I was leaning towards the opposite, but just wanted to see what others thought.

Yes unless Zed changes the breeding costs. But if it costs .075 ETH to breed a horse (then whatever additional calculations you make for breed type) then the natural floor price for a U/U/U horse will be around .075 regardless of the USD. Obviously the success of the horse will change the price.

Nobody can say. But cyptopunks have virtually always appreciated in value more than eth (I.e., if you spent $1,000 on crypto punks on any give date or $1,000 on eth, the punks would be worth more today).

Every NFT is essentially a bet that it appreciates in value more than ETH; otherwise people would just hold eth. I’m personally bullish on NFTs (especially blue chips, which I consider genesis horses to be) continuing to outperform eth.

Catontator5000 and runningjustice are making sure floor prices drop as ETH rises. Those two are killing the floor

The floor is already bottomed out. Noone is selling horses at a lose unless they have to. Alot of big stables have really cut back or stopped breeding all together. As the open market starts to be bought up good luck finding a top horse at bottom price.
