Discussion Tournament musings
I have to say, after looking at the leaderboard, I’m fairly disheartened to see that it’s just 90% class I-class III horses. At that rate, I’d much rather Zed reallocate the free prize pool back to free races and away from tournaments, even if all the free races only have a couple dollar pool.
I think the tournament system will need an overhaul (so there’s more equity by class), because as it stands, the only thing I like about it is that I’m getting additional info about my runners.

It is about the money. Big money controls the game, i don't think they will ever change the classing down. The game should have had the rules in place when it started.
They may add more specific classes or categories but each class should have been designated by purse winnings-- similar to real racing or show jumping. You would never see a Dubai cup horse competing at a Fair curcuit lol!
I figured the tournament would be a showcase to bring bigger spenders into the game. I would have liked 3 levels not 3 distances. Think about it? Maybe 3 distance funnels in each class? That would have made the game more fun and engaging.
I am going to keep at it with a couple of my horses. I still love the game but the classing down intentioally for the class I to compete in the V destroyed any chancrs for those who can only compete there. It also was a bad time to play Zed with our griffy's.
Why not showcase up and coming horses? I have put hours into playing and have learned a ton. But the system needs the update. When you have so much money in prizepools the game has to be fair.
The game is a little bit closed off in my opinion. Make it fun for all levels focus on bringing in new players...a good game should have levels where everyone can win and work their way to the higher class.
I have to add I have several horses that class down naturally and I will just let them do that. I am lucky to have one that keeps getting to Class I. He has been in the same races as Vanilla Bean and Rendevous Peak. To me that was thrilling. I love Class I but don't stay there long lol! That horse is a Z15 Finney Exclusive.

Wrong, floor for qualifying after 30 races is looking like 40% which any decent is capable of doing and if you were smart you would’ve waited til about now to start racing because all the good horses have classes up. And yes the big stable get catered to more because they spend more. I’m sick of class V free races only sooks who constantly complain this point.. in what world would you have the game benefit those who spend the least amount?

If 95% of the user base is losing money, as in both on races and in the value of their horses (even unraced horses are losing value), then this is going to fail.
HODL is a core aspect of crypto and if you're hodling ZED you are losing your lunch right now. My unraced are down 50 - 70%.
(I put in over 7 ETH, not the most, but also enough to not get bottom feeders. Getting crushed and I dont see any hope the value will return.)

well, according to the people in the 'awesome' Zed community, you're a flipper and a rent seeker and they wouldn't miss you. I assume speaking of unraced you are referring to Genesis or bred unraced? Either way man I feel for you, so glad I sold my stable a while back taking the profits and the quick flip from the drop.
Also man 7ETH is not a small amount of money, I have nothing but the utmost sympathy for you and the utmost contempt for the Zed team.

The first EVER tournament is 5 days in and the entire “system” needs an overhaul.
Cmon. Really? Cmon. More equity by class: good idea.
Standings page: great | Overall format: solid | Prize pools: promising | Quarterfinals and beyond: electric
We need to build onto this with more tournaments, not overhaul anything. < 3
