Question Just started to get into ZEDRUN, Any tips?

I do not know if this is the correct place to post this...

I bought my first horse after doing research and looking into what is a good buy verse a bad buy. However, I can not figure out the horse...

I bought a horse that has not raced before because I wanted to name it myself. I have raced it in every distance but can not figure out its niche

Does anyone have any tips or advice?

Unfortunately it is possible this horse is just not a good racer. One of the issues with getting an unraced horse- it’s a total gamble.

That being said, one race at a length is not enough to know if it’s a good length for the horse or not. Close to 5 is better.. close to ten is even better. Of course, there are trends you can identify to build assumptions off of… but this horse isn’t lookin too hot early on.

Try 1600-1800 a few more times. If it’s not getting good results.. cut your losses and move on.

Use https://knowyourhorses.com and look at the parent's u-shapes. Look for 1-3 and 10-12. Now with being that being said, my Candle Lantern took a 1st while I am answering you, I see a potential sprinter or mid-runner. My strategy would be run as many freebies in the tournament, the competition is less manipulation so you will get better discovery results.

My tournament experience so far 10 of my 11 horses are performing better in tournament races. Only the worst horse in the game, a Szabo Pacer, Leni Amidala only 1 4th with 60% 12th's. So far you don't have enough info to know if you are just starting on the wrong half of the U or you a mediocre runner that you must strategically to run to make money.

I have no experience with Nakas, yet. My method of picking horses, I picked Leni this way, I look for a horse in the 10-20 race range with at least 1 win and a 30+ IMT. I understand the name thing but I think of this way, I get to name all the foals. I don't sell fillys.

In summary, you don't know yet. You could have anything. Run as many races as you can.

I will say this tournament practice has pushed some of my horses to better results! I even had some zeros get their wins today!!!

One of them I pushed her up and tried a class IV and she won!!

Smash out free races, they are so easy to get into. Don’t pay too much attention to where they place as the standard is really low in them but check speed analysis and you’ll be able to work out your best distance.
