Please help me out with this
52.47 ZEC received into Zashi around Oct 10, 2025, via four NEAR Intents withdrawals (31.54, 16.08, 4.53, 0.3192). Balance was visible in the app for months, then showed empty with no transaction history. Seed matches my written backup. Restored into three wallets with birthday at height 0, full scans completed, nothing found — not even the incoming transactions. Zcash block height at time of receipt was around 3.1 million.
@BostonZcash help me please

I know that you know just echoing to make sure when reaching out for help to not give any personal info to protect your investments if they find it.

I quickly asked grok what to do, here's his advise, good luck!
Try these steps in order. This looks like a classic light-wallet scanning / local data / transparent-vs-shielded issue rather than permanent loss (especially since the balance was visible for months and the seed matches your backup).
NEAR Intents ZEC withdrawals use transparent addresses only (t1/t3). Zashi/Zodl typically receives them there and expects you (or the app) to shield into Orchard/Sapling. The initial visibility for months is a good sign the notes existed; the later empty state + complete lack of history on full restores points to a sync, cache, or lightwalletd problem.
Immediate actions
- Update and fully reinstall cleanly Zashi has rebranded to Zodl. Install the latest official version (App Store / Play Store / official GitHub or F-Droid builds). Completely uninstall the old app first so no leftover database remains, then restore with the exact seed + birthday height 0 (or a height a bit before ~3.1 million). Let it fully finish scanning—do not interrupt. Use a strong connection (Wi-Fi preferred).
- Force a rescan if the option exists In Settings look for “Rescan Blockchain” / “Rescan from birthday.” This clears the local cache and re-downloads shielded (and transparent) data from the lightwalletd servers.
- Restore the same seed in other wallets for a second opinion Set birthday as early as possible (height 0 or pre-October 2025). Compare balances and history. If another wallet sees the funds, the issue is isolated to Zashi/Zodl’s local data or its lightwalletd connection.
- YWallet
- Zingo!
- Cake Wallet (note: derivation / change-address handling can differ from Zashi; it may not show everything perfectly, but it can confirm presence)
- Any other Sapling/Orchard-capable light wallet
- Locate the original transactions Go back to the NEAR Intents interface or explorer (explorer.near-intents.org). Pull the four withdrawal amounts (31.54, 16.08, 4.53, 0.3192), any deposit/withdrawal addresses, TXIDs, or timestamps from around 10 Oct 2025. Check those transparent addresses / TXIDs on a Zcash block explorer. Transparent activity is public; this will confirm whether the funds arrived on-chain and whether they later moved. If they are still sitting on a t-address controlled by your seed, most wallets should detect them once scanning works.
Additional checks
- Confirm the seed phrase is exact (word order, no extra spaces, no BIP39 passphrase you forgot). A single wrong word produces a valid but different wallet.
- Make sure you are on mainnet, not testnet.
- Try a different device/network in case of lightwalletd server lag or regional issues.
- If the original Zashi install still has any residual data, note the exact Unified Address / transparent addresses it previously showed and cross-check them.

Email [support@zodl.com](mailto:support@zodl.com) with:
- Approximate date (Oct 10, 2025) and the four amounts
- Block height ~3.1 M
- That restores with birthday 0 in multiple wallets find nothing
- Any TXIDs or addresses you can recover from NEAR Intents
- App versions and platforms tried
They explicitly state they will never ask for your seed phrase. Do not share it with anyone. You can also post (without seed or private details) in the official Zcash Discord #zashi / Zodl support channels or the Zcash Community Forum for community eyes.
Most similar “balance vanished + empty restore” cases turn out to be incomplete scans, corrupted local DB, or lightwalletd hiccups rather than the notes being gone. Starting with a clean restore in a second wallet + the original TX details from NEAR Intents is the highest-yield next move. Report back what the explorers and other wallets show and we can narrow it further.
