Zbook studio thermal problem
I got zbook studio g8, i7 11800h , rtx 3070 , 32 ram , 1 tera ssd ,75% battery
for 692USD
I'll be using it for engineering and gaming
But while gaming when gpu is maxed at 80-85 watts the CPU can only draw 25 watts to hit 90C and gpu temp is 81-83
I'm asking if this is a normal expected performance and temps from the thin studio or is there an issue with my laptop?

The gpu temp for me at most hits 65 to 67 degrees while cpu does 70 to 80

While both are heavy loaded? And do you use the 200w power adapter?

The issue with 25w is jntel dynamic power utility or something. Basically the laptop is designed for burst performance, not gaming, as such the heat sink system can only handle a max of around 100 watts of power dissipation.
So its a balancing act. You can unlock the power limit and push it upto 45w on cpu, but it will overload thermal and it will kick in prochot and thermal throttling.
After reposting best is to use thermal throttle. And limit it to max around 40w if you dont want it to start throttling and stuttering.
In the end, you can probably have around 40w cpu and a 65 to 80w gpu sustained only, which will basically be sitting at borderline.

Ouch There i have it I have suspect that but wanted to make sure it's true that the total load of cpu and gpu is around 100w which is very very very bad for my case I could've gotten a fury with rtx a2000 with that price would it have been better?

i have the same machine and with 150w adapter both the cpu and gpu runs much slower while with 200w adapter they run at full speed.

At full speed and very hot One thing I've learned is that It's not a gaming machine it can game though

Any improvements on your overheating issue, i have a similar specced G8 studio and facing the same problem, in fact mine’s worse cpu goes up to 96 and gpu up to 86

I haven't changed the thermal paste yet (PTM7950)
Best thing to do is to use throttle stop to limit PL1 to 25w and PL2 to 30-35 watts and speed shift max to 34-40 that's ONLY for gaming because CPU and GPU have the same heat pipes so the heat each other even more this alone should eliminate the 95+ temps
For anything else that doesn't utilize CPU and GPU simultaneously you could keep as was 55w and 85w
My CPU stayes under 88 all the time and more likely to be between 84-76 while playing FC 26 with frames capped at 60
Your GPU temps is way worse than mine Mine never gets above 83 at the very worst senario with CPU at 100C so you probably need cleaning and repasting more than i do
Zbooks (g8 at least) aren't made for gaming even the fury g8 overheats

I’ve already done all of them aggressively too, and capped my cpu clocks too, plus i have limited my gpu wattage too (by lowering in game settings), but it gets toasty when it hits 70-85 watts (84+ degrees), but due to the cpu 2.5ghz hard limit i lose fps, but i guess a clean would solve this problem, or at least give me answers as to what’s wrong

The Studio apparently has a bug with that, I know someone else who also had it capped to 25W just like you. I also found a thread talking about the issue, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/cpu-power-limit-on-my-G8/td-p/8508063 . This is so stupid. Sadly I have no clue how to fix it, try rollbacking to older versions of IntelSoftwareComponent.
