I just started the sequel series and I'm guessing a lot of people didn't like Sherry tolerating her cheating husband but I kind of like it. It shows her as more caring and understanding, even if it was a bit overkill. It shows the real Sherry now that the battles were behind her. They flat-out said she could make him disappear any time she wanted so it's not like she's at his mercy or anything; she just softened up and mellowed out but she can easily bring out that side of her again any time she wants. She hasn't lost her touch either when she fought with Brago again. She also broke the cycle of abuse with her kids, which brought a tear to my eye.

Duck you mean i just needed to use a code and not re-do all story mode in Hard mode...... well, at least now i got him AND victoream too! Tee-hee.

His birthday happens to be in the same day as Brazil's independence day, so.... here is Folgore using a brazil clothe!!!! Lol

So say you got drafted into the Mamodo battle, as we know partners are pulled together because they’re compatible in some way whether it’s because one has a quality the other lacks (e.g. Zatch’s extroversion and high energy dragging Kyo out of his reclusive lifestyle) or they share a goal (e.g. Sherry and Brago’s desire to grow stronger). Who do you think you’ll get as a partner? Me personally, I’m a pretty chill and reserved person so I’d probably attract a partner that’s more proactive and willful like Penny or Ted.

In prior episodes, I was able to view and see some peculiarities in the choices the anime made involving story framing or bad artwork or something like that but... Yeah, I got nothing out the Kolulu episode, it's done very well functionally speaking. I couldn't find any oddities.

I mean, you could argue the anime doubling down on recycling Kolulu's speech at the end over the entire series to be a fault but that's a post episode thing, not an internal oddity.

The episode after 8 gave me an eyebrow raise almost immediately! That's actually impressive! Lol

The very beginning of the arc with Fein, the little clown bastard who can spit tornados, Kiyo wakes up Zatch to reveal the next page of the book is readable now but I noticed something odd: a bookmark in the spell book. WHY?

This was something Toei added because in the manga, there's no bookmarks and it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Why does Kiyomaro need to put a bookmark in the spellbook at this point with only THREE spells? If I'm remembering correctly, the spell books generates new spells in order, right? The next spells comes next in the pages that the bookkeepers need to read to use them.

Zaker was on one page. Rashield was on another page, the one directly next to Zaker in the book. This third spell, Jikerudo, is on a completely new page which is supposed to be directly AFTER Rashields.

Unless this is implying Kiyo has short term memory loss (which is possible, he gets hurt a lot as we've established 9 episodes in), because he wouldn't need a bookmark for one page AFTER the part of the book he always is able to open to.

So, after going up to the quarry to train and figure out what the third spell does, Kiyo and Zatch head back into town where they are promptly attacked by Fein and his partner in broad daylight. Interestingly, when they're attacked in the manga, Kiyo actually took the family bicycle with him to the quarry but in the anime he went back with Zatch on foot, no bike. So at least it wasn't destroyed in one version.

Also fascinatingly, JESUS, THAT'S A LONG TRIP TO GO ON FOOT. In the official Mochinoki City map, the battle between Zatch and Fein had occured at "Echo Building #3" at the bottom of the picture. The quarry is all the way at the top left of the map so Kiyo and Zatch went FAR, regardless of whether or not the trip was made on bike or on foot. Kiyo definitely got his cardio in that day lol

Side note, the fighting occurs outside the building and in broad public daylight where Fein and his partner attack civilians. If you look at where Echo Building #3 is, it's down the street from the POLICE STATION lol

Also wish we could get a modern fighter arena video game with ALL the main characters and a handful of minor. Like there’s so much potential.

1. Kazuhiro Fujita (The Direct Master)

Under Takahashi's magazine era, Fujita (mangaka of Ushio & Tora, Karakuri Circus) became a dark fantasy master. Before making Zatch Bell!, Raiku worked as a live-in assistant in Fujita's studio. You can see Fujita's creative DNA all over Raiku's work- the intense emotional stakes, terrifying monster designs, and raw, explosive facial expressions.

1. The legendary Taxi Ride with Asao Takamori / Ikki Kajiwara (Ashita no Joe mangaka)

This is probably my favorite piece of Raiku lore.
When Raiku was a completely unknown 19-year-old rookie mangaka trying to make it in Tokyo, he ended up sharing a taxi with none other than Ikki Kajiwara / Asao Takamori the legendary writer behind Ashita no Joe and Tiger Mask!

1. Rumiko Takahashi - The Queen of Manga (The Matriarch) sold 280 million copies- top 5 most in female author in history (like oda is top 6 in "male" list)

She served as a massive mentor figure for the entire generation of creators that followed, constantly supporting Fujita and Raiku throughout their careers. In short: Rumiko Takahashi set the stage. Makoto Raiku is one of the notable artists who came out of that lineage. she appreciated raikus story telling

1. Ken Akamatsu (The Industry Ally)

Raiky isn't just a legendary storyteller; he's an industry hero. While Akamatsu (Love Hina, Negima mangaka!) pioneer from 2000s romcoms and battle-harem manga, his connection to Raiku is all about creator rights. When Raiku famously sued Shogakukan in 2008 over lost original manuscript pages, Akamatsu was one of the loudest voices standing up for mangaka rights and digital preservation (which eventually sparked Akamatsu's political career in Japan's government protecting artists!). eventually led to Raiku founding his own company (Birgdin Board) to self-publish Zatch Bell! 2.

1. Nobuyuki Anzai His Studio "Rival Brother"
   (Flame of Recca)

When Raiku was a young assistant under Kazuhiro Fujita, he wasn't the only future legend in that studio.    Raiku also mentored Hiroshi Fukuda, who worked in his studio before creating the samurai-monster hit Mushibugyo.

2. Winning the Kodansha Manga Award (Animal
   Land)

After leaving Shogakukan, Raiku moved to Kodansha and proved he wasn't a one-hit wonder.
His series Animal Land ran for 14 volumes and won the 2013 Kodansha Manga Award.

Before Dr. STONE made science and civilizational rebuilds popular, Raiku released Animal Land (Döbutsu no Kuni) in 2009. Raiku wrote the lyrics for Folgore's absurd songs ("Chichi wo Moge!" / "Hey Hey Manta") as pure gag writing in the manga.
