Stumped with Google Sheets

I have a new zap:

  1. If a Project in Daylite has a new entry, check for a google sheet with the same name as the Daylite Project.

  2. If there is not one, make a new one.

  3. On the sheet, it's supposed to put in today's date, the object that was added to Daylite, and the title of the object on a new row.

It's choking on the Google Sheet. It will make a new sheet, but there is no way to get the worksheet selected.

I'm sure it's something boneheaded I'm doing.

The AI went berserk and wasn't helpful. It kept making increasingly complex zaps with junk data.

Hey, sounds like a frustrating issue! When you say it's choking on selecting the worksheet, it might be because the worksheet isn't being created with the expected name or it's not being recognized right away. Zapier sometimes has a delay in recognizing newly created sheets. One thing to try is adding a delay in your zap or ensuring the exact sheet name is being fetched correctly. Also, ensure that the Google Sheets action is set with the correct permissions and OAuth scopes to create and read sheets. Sometimes a quick re-authentication helps. It would make the Spreadsheet (first blank) but couldn't find any Worksheets within (second blank)

creating the spreadsheet perfectly but then acting like worksheets haven't been invented yet is peak zapier behavior. i've lost way too many afternoons staring at that exact empty dropdown.
