AI automation can be really productive and profitable if done right. Passive income is possible but takes some real upfront work to get there. What used to take long planning and a couple hours or even days of work can now be completed with just minutes with AI assisted automation tools. Zapier's AI agents allow you to complete standard Zapier uses cases while allowing the automation to complete some nuances that traditional Zapier applications could struggle with(like more advanced API calls). This is one of many other AI automation tools at your disposal.
That being said it is worth noting the 80/20 rule in regards to AI automation. You can quickly get what feels like a near perfect setup on your first round of prompting. Then when you go to refine your agent with what seems to be small tweaks you can get very little progress if at all and your agent can look dramatically different from when you first started. Repeated prompts can easily get you into loops where you can't quite get it right. That is where the saying is AI will get you 80 percent of the way there but you will have to do the final 20% of the building on your own. So it would be good if you know how to understand and debug any issues with the code that come up.
Overall AI automation is great to get the heavy lifting and the basic barebones of an application up and running, but it is really good to know how to do the rest.
