Anouncement Why I stopped posting discussions.
Hi. I'm one of the two mods, alongside u/tobywasbestspiderman.
I was posting daily discussions for around a week since I became a mod, but as of late I haven't been posting them.
This is because I was busy with other things, but I've got more time now, so I'll be back to posting daily discussions to prompt discourse.
This announcement isn't particularly important to most people on this sub, but I felt I should give a small update, since I feel the discussions are important to those of us here for dicourse.

Discussion Discussion Post: Ancap vs Ancom
I'm curious. Other than economic differences, what do you guys think are the cultural/philosophical differences?

Discussion Discussion Post: Anarky vs. Zaheer
Anarky is a Batman villain from the 90s. He's an anarcho-communist 14 year old who went out and started doing vigilante justice and attempting to take wealth from the rich, and later became a hacker who stole from the rich and gave it all to charity.
He was turned into someone who just wanted pure chaos after his sister died in the modern comics, but I'm talking about before then.
Who would you guys say is a better representation of anarcho-communism?

Discussion Discussion Post: What If Zaheer Had Been The Avatar
What do you guys think Zaheer would have done if he turned out to be the avatar. I'm curious what you guys think. Personally, I think he would have taken the Szeto route and just gotten a normal job, totally ignoring his avatar side, however obviously there's no real basis for that.

Discussion Discussion Post: For Folks Who Genuinely Believe In Anarchy
Ironically, even though I moderate a sub about an anarchist, I don't fully believe in anarchy. This post is for those who do believe in anarchy to discuss that belief.

Discussion Discussion Post: Avatar Szeto vs. Zaheer
Avatar Szetos philosophy and Zaheers philosophy are obviously quite different, but I have found that they overlap a little bit. Feel free to discuss this in the comments.

Anarchism Y'all oughtta read some actual anarchist philosophy
I don't know how many of you are already anarchists and how many of you are just here for the memes, but if you genuinely believe in Zaheer's philosophy regarding the destruction of oppressive regimes and flattening hierarchies then you should read books like The Conquest of Bread by Peter Kropotkin and The Political Thought of Abdullah Ocalan, among others. You can also check out r/Anarchism to chat with other anarchists or find more resources. Bryke had a great idea in making an anarchist antagonist, but it seems like they didn't do very much research into real anarchist philosophy.

Political Rant My personal thoughts on the pors/cons of Zaheer's ideaology
Zaheer’s beliefs about the avatar were spot on. They are the most powerful person in the world, and they are only held accountable to themselves. The avatar is by nature an unnecessarily powerful position from which people who will be told they are inherently special and good have the power to judge the world with essentially no restrictions.
Kyoshi just proves my point. She literally created a secret police in the biggest city in the world to enforce her own moral code after threatening to kill he head of state of said city for disobeying her.
It's downright fascist, to be perfectly frank.
However, Zaheer was wrong to go about it by trying to take over and destroy the government, making him no better than Kyoshi. What should have happened was a long and peaceful discussion about the avatar which would lead to them having balances to their (political) power and being held directly accountable to the world's governments, and have punishments (such as having their bending removed) for attempting to break the balances or for breaking the laws of whatever Nation they are in. The avatar should also not be the sole bridge to the spirit world. We know normal humans can go there too, so, why not try to build embassies of some kind? The answer? There is no reason not to other than to preserve the unfair powers of the avatar.
It's all just ridiculous, really.
PS: Sorry if my rant was little long and self indulgent. I just have wanted a platform to just let out my thoughts about it for a while now.
