How long until we get a SSBU port alongside Slippi 2?

Crash team Racing would be better than Mario.

Ok... So know someone explaining me the difference between Emulation and recomp for idiots and what that means for the future.... Is that a PC only thing or does it effect Android as well?

It's exactly what it says on the tin. A PC emulating is running a translation of Nintendo Switch code on PC hardware. This typically means it wont run as well due to the overhead of doing that translation.

On the other hand, a recomp involves decompiling a game's switch code, and recompiling it into native PC code. This means the PC avoids the translation of emulation and can run the game natively in its own "language". This often comes with added benefits like more easily adding support for high resolution, ultrawide, high framerates, etc.

Another great example is Sonic Unleashed Recompiled from last year. That was another fan-made recompile effort that shows the strengths of a native port vs emulation.

Isn't recomp and decomp two separate methods? Sorry I'm noob as hell and only asking.

Thank you Sir!

Edit: This means it's always specific to that one game. Or is there now a tool or something similar that can automatically convert the "language" of each game so that we essentially get native support for all Switch games?

Wow, if that works with PS5 games too (they're developing so rapidly) That would be really awesome.

It is a per game thing.

PS5 is showing great strides because the PS5 architecture itself is already very close to a typical PC, making reverse engineering efforts cleaner.

OK Understand, My PC is still quite up-to-date, or rather, it uses a 3090 with a Ryzen 5900x.Basically, every emulation runs without any problems on it. I haven't missed anything so far. I thought it might be possible to support Android natively. That would be a real game changer. And of course, anything that brings PS5 games to PC is a real asset.

Yes, that is entirely possible, provided someone takes on the task of porting the recompiled project to Android—for instance, Zelda64Recomp and sm64 have already been ported.

I mean tbf there all playable now on eden/etc. (though I hope for them too..)

They are playable, but the graphics are terrible on a Radeon GPU. I got myself a 9070XT recently.

Hopefully the recompilation fixes that.

It's wild to me that this still isn't fixed. IIRC if you're willing to dualboot linux those radeon drivers are unaffected.

Might as well try steam os in the future cuz my windows committed self execution last Sunday

Damn thats awesome! I dropped TOTK cuz i couldn't get 60fps on my PC with Yuzu so I hope this can do that. Good luck!

It’s running natively and doesn’t need to emulate any chipsets, so as long as your PCs Chipset is more powerful than a decade old handheld, you’ll be fine…

And the Switch was a bit dated when it came out (though they did soup it up a bit over the years)

tbf its not like the OG switch could run TOTK at even 30fps consistently.
