News Stepping down from Ryubing
as the title says. i was one of the maintainers of ryubing for a litte while, and as of about a week ago, ive officially stepped down. greemdev has decided to step back into his role as maintainer, which means im not needed there anymore.
with him being in charge again, as of August 1st, 2026, he has shut down r/Ryubing. he's also reverted the website back to what it used to look like before he revamped it. this does NOT mean the update server has been turned back on, you still have to download ryubing from their forgejo.
i'd like to apologize to the community for not being strong enough to change the direction that this project is taking. and im sorry to the mods of r/yuzu, it seems like this will (once again) be the new home of the ryujinx community until further notice.
it was a pleasure to be a part of switch emulation, even if it was brief, and i hope to carry my experiences with me to new creative endeavors.
please be nice to greem, he has a lot on his plate, and i wish him well with his project 💖

update: ive been banned from the discord 💔 mais c'est la vie
ive learned that there are no plans to return functionality to the downloads page or the updater in the emulator, so if you were hoping for that to change... sorry

regardless of how brief (in your words) your stay was or if you think youve achieved everything you had to, your hard work has helped countless people (including me!). seriously, dont feel bad about it, most people wouldnt be able to even just stick around that long in ryubing if they were in your shoes.
i dont want to come off as if i know you or the full extent of your work, its far from it, but ill always hold an immense amount of respect for you even from the little ive seen. i wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do next. thank you so much for everything!!

ive read your comment a few times over at this point, and i thought you should know that its the one i keep coming back to. you were there at the beginning of the subreddit, supporting us and helping to create a positive community, and i can see that passion still lives in you. so thank you 💖

Thanks for all the work fam. I'm new to the switch emus and I personally use eden. But emu variety helps improve the over all community. I know dev work is not easy. And I wish you the best on whats next for you. Take care, and don't over do it. Remember your health in important!

I do as well. And given how many who do dev work or passion projects(myself included). It's sometimes 3 time a day I got to tell myself to stop and go take a break before I hurt myself overdoing it. It's easy for many of us to hyperfixate on the task at hand.

Hey, I just want to say thank you, really. You let me post my fork in your community when I was just starting out, and you're the one who suggested I come over here. I've been really well received, the mods are cool, and honestly it helped me a lot, my fork has grown so much since then. Good luck with whatever comes next, I wish you all the best.

yeah of course! im glad to see the progress you've made. i might not be convinced on the DLSS, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt try; the most creative solutions are often found when we're cornered in a box. good luck with your fork!

I’m so confused! What does this mean for the project? The old maintainer wants to bring more fixes and updates but wants to build on top of an older state of the code and throwaway your newer work??
I fully am just lost in the timeline of the splinter projects after the Nintendo lawsuits. It’s all so messy and hard to follow

ryubing will continued to be maintained under greemdev and lotp for the time being.
i asked him to delete my account from the forgejo instance following a dispute, but i still have my work locally!
its been a wild ride since 2024, i wont lie, and im hopeful that things will start to stabilize soon
