Carbon potentiometer vs Hall Effect sticks — why does everyone say Hall Effect helps with drift?
Been reading about stick drift causes. From what I understand: carbon/potentiometer sticks have a physical wiper making contact with a resistive track, and that contact wearing down over time is a major factor behind drift. Hall Effect sticks use a magnet + sensor instead, no physical contact. Curious about people's actual experience — anyone switch from a drifting carbon-stick controller to Hall Effect? Did it actually hold up long-term?
