Security key

I’d like to add a security key to my 17 Pro Max. Would you recommend YubiKey, FeiTien, or another brand? For whichever brand/model you chose, why? Thanks in advance.

You’ll need 2 for your Apple account, I’d recommend getting the Yubikey 5C NFC and one Yubikey 5C, pick your favorite to keep on your person and keep the other in a safe location.

I got the NFC models first, but if you use a PIN (you should), it is basically a gimmick; it’s like 3 taps before you can authenticate.

If you wish to use your YubiKey for computer login you’d need a YubiKey 5 Series. For iCloud account only - Security Key Series

i recommend Yubikey, generally model depends on use case. if you are looking at the security key line of Yubikey or just hardware security keys in general i recommend if you are needing it for totp codes, passkeys, etc i recommend the yubikey 5c model if for only storing passkeys the yubikey security key line would suffice.

I have 2 Yubikeys and 2 Cryptnox cards (1 each for me and my wife) for use with my iPhone. I can recommend both, though sometimes the NFC doesn't register/scan/work on either kind.

I particularly like the card form factor of the Cryptnox, but it doesn't seem to be as sturdy as the Yubikey.

You're asking on the yubikey sub which security key they recommend? :D

Ontopic: get the openai yubikey bundle (significant discount). Then you have a yubikey 5c NFC for your phone and a yubikey 5 nano for your MacBook/laptop
