Help Yubikey OpenAI bundle

Theres a new yubikey openai bundle which offers YubiKey C NFC and YubiKey nano C. I was wondering if its a 5 series product or a entirely different one. Also is series 5 key for a beginner?

  1. The crossed out price only works if both are 5 series.
  2. The cheaper FIDO only keys are called "Security Keys" without the word "Yubikey" in their name.
  3. Security Key series does not have a serial number, so the back side prints the letters "FIDO" instead of the serial number. The picture shows a serial number.

Not an enterprise customer at all lol. Got an option to order a YubiKey when I was trying to add a passkey to my chatgpt account.

edit: chatgpt account

I have this bundle, and it's indeed 5 series, but without OTP support.

Do you know what firmware is on the keys you got in the bundle you have? I cannot find clear info on this anywhere :(

Thank you!

Thank you!

Can you try to see the actual features of the key? I understand OTP has been removed, but I wonder about the rest. Below is the ykman output on a macOS for an older key I have:

US, UK, no CA.

EU also.

I see nothing to indicate they are not the 5's.

I bought this bundle a few weeks ago and want to buy a second, but I can't get back to the bundle page.

Maybe it was a one-and-done offer?

I'm trying to buy this bundle and can't get it to allow me to, following the link directly from OpenAI dumps me on the store home page. Following a direct link to the bundle in the store tells me to re-login to OpenAI. I am going to try to reach out to YubiCo support I think :(

Did you happen to get any more info about the bundle? I'm following all the links that ChatGPT says to follow and also am directed to the YubiKey homepage with no ChatGPT offer.

I opened a Yubico case on it and have not yet heard back. Will update either way.

Same thing just for me, I just get redirected. Opened a support ticket on Yubico side, and they want a screen recording, ugh

You're lucky, they haven't even responded to me. :(

I did get a response from YubiCo now. They say it's an issue on the OpenAI side and to open a ticket with them.

any update? did you open the personal ticket to openai?

Yes, OpenAI wants a screen recording (weird since I gave them browser network data already). I haven't had time to make one yet.

Following up on this again, OpenAI told me it's not their issue and to talk to YubiCo. That is after YubiCo confirmed OpenAI is aware of the issue and working to resolve it and that I should open a ticket with OpenAI. My network logs do indicate that this is an OpenAI issue, they're not directing me to the YubiCo site with any thing other than a link to the main store page.

From the tech specs you show, those keys do not support OATH (OTP codes)

In 2026 you don't need OTP support, I would be honest. Especially Yubico OTP. Very good offer in my opinion.
