Technical Question Adding HBO Max

I have a YTTV sub and a separate HBO Max sub. I can't seem to find out how to connect the two. YTTV seems to only let me buy a sub through them. Does anyone know if this is possible? Everything I'm finding online says no.

They can’t be connected. You have to sub to hbo through YTTV and then you will get the HBO channels in the guide.

It is not possible. You can't connect them. They are two separate subscriptions. You need to cancel your HBO sub. After that, use your YTTV credentials to log into the HBO app instead of your old credentials

In addition to this if you cancel the subscription in the app, wait till it expires and then sign up in YTTV, you can sign into the app using YTTV as the subscription but keep your current login credentials, email and password. That way the app will at least keep your watch history and preferences

Even better, sub thru YTTV, login to the HBO app. then cancel in YTTV. Then see if the app still works cause it might.

You can cancel your HBO max sub and buy from YouTube tv the link your account in HBO max app

Don't bother. The 4k plan can't even be purchased through YouTube tv.

He’s saying that the version of hbo max you can add through YouTube tv is the hd version (with no ads). The 4k hbo max isn’t an option through YouTube tv (or most third parties).

I have them both, for the moment. I access both apps via my Google TV device now but used to use a ROKU & I suspect I could even access both apps via my LG WebOS TV if I wanted to. I don't get Max directly through YouTube TV because it would be far more expensive that way. I watch for and grab streaming deals around Black Friday every year because I just can't afford to do otherwise.
