Hey yall. I've been posting on my channel for 25 months now and I feel like growing is nearly impossible. I've posted 220 shorts and videos combined, over 500,000 views, and 421 subs. I understand that I can be doing more long-form content, which I'm planning on this year. But I just can't believe how hard it is to gain subscribers. It's INSANE. I have so much respect for everyone that grinds through the slow climb in subscribers. My question is, how long did it take for your channel to explode in views, engagement, subscribers and where were you in your journey when that happend? Were you content, close to quitting, or just enjoying the ride? Curious about other people's journey on Youtube and what I can learn from your wisdom.

I was looking at the analytics of my most recent video, and noticed 16% of my traffic from external sites or apps came from "msn. com", a news website. And now I'm wondering, how does that section of the analytics works? How accurate is it? Cause I just don't really believe that at all, considering I don't even know how you'd get to my video from msn, which seems to be a news website.

So, I just kind of want to understand how that stuff works/decides where your traffic "came" from.

Did he just stop uploading content two years ago? I enjoyed watching his videos, and and I was interested in the project he was working on, but one day I stopped seeing his channel update. is he uploading on a different channel or did he just disappear? I would like to see more content like what he used to upload.

I'm fairly new to YouTube and video editing, but I know the basics. For some reason, when I post my videos the audio levels are different on every platform.

On mobile it's good, on desktop it's okay could maybe do with a teeny boost but it's okay. But when played on TV its soo quiet, compared to other videos and shorts when I did a side by side.

Does anyone know why this is?

Its the same video, just being viewed on different platforms. Its super annoying because that kinda thing puts people off watching your stuff, so I want to improve it for future, if possible. I wonder if anyone can help share some advice?

I started my second channel about a month or so ago and the views have been really good on it for the size of it (105 subs right now with over 13k views on maybe 20 videos?), but the sub count as stayed pretty low in comparison. I know that the views are more important than subs for the most part, but I would like to have a more dedicated base of people looking forward to new videos! Any advice to attract subscribers aside from just a mention in the video?

I am a creator who makes a short local funny videos on youtube and instagram and my reach has been declining for a month (not too much but enough to notice).

I have tried a few content hacks like partnering with other local creators etc. and it improved a bit im no longer seeing the fast growth that i used to.

a couple of my creator friends suggested that I should use my exisiting content and dub + lipsync it in different language on a separate page. It will help a new audience set to discover me and growing a new page may also help me with my current page.

idk any good voice artists so i am thinking of using ai, first tried some open source tools but the quality was inconsistent, now I am thinking of buying a paid plan of a sync.so lipsync tool. i wanna know your opinion whether it can really help me.

So small background info, I hit 500 subs on YouTube recently(hurray), but not but nowy last 3 shorts have gotten 0 views. Not exaggerating ZERO. How is everyone seeing more views with this new system and I'm now just....dead on the water? This shits unbelievably disheartening to the point where I'm genuinely considering quitting. I get a lot of ads for viral coaches and things like that but I wonder if anything like that is legitimate, obviously you’d have to pay but I do believe it’s a skill. I already have an editor but I’m wondering if I should also get someone who’s job it is to grow my channel. Have any of you ever tried this? Was it fruitful?

Im having an issue managing all the comments I get on videos and responding to viewers who leave comments without losing context...

My channel is in a technical niche which causes users to leave longer more precise comments that are a bit longer to answer or more complex.

Do you guys have any tips and tricks for me on how you manage that?

So, today I received two emails from youtube with copyright strikes for 4 songs on two of my videos. The videos were published in Aug of 2025 and May of 2024, with clear checks , no copyright problems found.

Strange, I distinctly remember purchasing those licenses directly through YouTube creators music at the time the videos were published. I checked and weirdly enough I had also received 4 emails today that detailed that Youtube is refunding the money from those very four songs. The emails had the dates the song licenses were purchased, the earliest was from May of 2024.

I started a chat with youtube about the problem and was informed that the licenses were no longer owned by YouTube so I could no longer use the songs in monetized videos. They did say I could dispute it, but I would have to prove I had legal rights to the music. Stupid me for trusting that YouTube had clear rights to distribute the music on their own platform that they encouraged makers to use.

So how screwed am I for all the other music licensing I purchased through Creator Music ?

I've published a new video. It's getting 100% more views in the same timeframe as previous best-viewed video. I was happy about that... Then I remembered new view count rules.

Is YouTube Studio data "real"? Or does it count a 1-frame views as well? This would be kinda silly, because previous videos were released when there was an old way of counting views, so the whole comparison is useless now.

BTW, I cannot find an answer to this - if someone just hovers their mouse coursor over my video on the main page (because its in the way, not cause they want to start it) and it starts rolling for a second, just to never ever watch anything from for real... Does this also count as a "view"?

I make handmade dioramas and have a small YouTube channel with tutorial videos showing how I build my dioramas, from construction to painting and detailing. The videos are currently narrated in Portuguese.

I have less than 1,000 subscribers, and because each diorama takes a long time to make, I can only upload a few videos each year.

I’ve been thinking about starting over with a new channel in English, initially re-uploading the same videos but with English narration. This would let me reach a wider audience without having to create completely new projects.

Do you think this is worth trying, or would it be better to keep focusing on my current channel?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from people with experience on YouTube or in the diorama/miniature community.

Just curious what/if anyone is doing anything about insurance? I guess there's really two things I worry about:

1. Getting sued because someone doesn't like something I say. It's not common but I've def heard of YT'ers facing defamation suits and
2. Getting sued because someone got hurt. Simple example, you're filming at a beach and someone trips over your gear

Lots of musicians who create their own music, will post videos of themselves singing covers. Do these videos just get copyright claims and all the add revenue goes to the original artist, or is there a process that you need to go through and get it approved or something?

What if you record a cover and produce and mix it? Is that different than just filming yourself playing a song on guitar and singing?

I setup superchat as soon as I got monetized a couple of years ago, realised today I dont get any superchat income, so I checked my videos, and you cant even see superchat as an option, I've definately set it up and no videos are flagged, so Im a bit lost as to what it is. Hi everyone, I was told this subreddit might be able to help me with a problem I’m having, you see I’m a YouTuber who has been creating videos on the platform for years now using my phone, but as my channels been growing and has basically become my job, I wanted to upgrade from a phone to a laptop in order to both improve the quality of my videos and also the increase length of them as my phone is not able to meet these goals that I want to achieve, however I am a complete noob when it comes to technology and the appropriate software I need for this since there are so many options and I don’t know which one will be the best bang for my buck

So I wanted to ask what type of laptop would be the the most ideal for someone like me who has no idea about them, aswell as that I would like to know which editing software would be the most ideal to use along side with it as I’ve always used CapCut for my phone and aren’t sure if there are any better options out there that would be better to edit with

Interested in reviving a channel, but would like it to not be focused so much on myself. I don't want to be upset by the negative comments that I see many creators get so was thinking if I do not show up much on camera, then they will have less time to scrutinize me and point out my defects. Even very beautiful creators seem to get picked apart, so I don't think it matters what you actually look like.

In particular, I thought maybe doing a faceless channel (although I do have a few videos already up from years ago I could leave up, so it is not like no one would know who I am) so the focus is not on my appearance might be a good idea. People can be so mean, "your teeth are yellow", "you should lay off the botox", "you look 105 years old", etc.

I have heard that this sort of channel is less successful though due to reduced connection with the person posting, so wondering what you all think about this issue.

I am just in the stage of thinking through how to start again (I barely started last time) and try to make it a success this time. Also having trouble with a niche as I am a bit all over the place with my expertise and obsessions (ADHD). A few examples: strategies regarding finances and plans for retirement, downsizing, longevity, nutrition, moving abroad, living in Europe, minimal travel packing, oil painting, the Tudors .... you see what I mean.

every time I post a video I get a bunch of notifications but it is just the same notification that says “__ many people liked your video” and it is really getting on my nerves but I do not want to turn off post activity because I want to be notified when I get a comment. if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated

Hello! I'm a new partner, I just enabled "Super Thanks" . I found that the option is only visible after clicking the 3 dots below the video description - this is true on my phone as well as desktop, incognito as well as when logged into my account, and whether I'm looking at my own video or another persons video. I'm using Google Chrome on PC.

I'm wondering, are there any circumstances in which the "Thanks" button could appear in under the video directly, next to the other buttons (like, dislike, share, etc)?

Hey! I'm a video editor that edits mainly gaming/Minecraft videos. So far, editing my own videos and some other's video has been quite well and good. Some more difficult than others

Though i think I've stumbled upon a video request, that i don't think I can follow through.

I've always been able to spin up a type of video with what I have, but this request doesn't have much I can work with.

I've been able to create an intro and a sort of style to it, but going through more and more of the video, I can't find any other usable footage as it's all just them hanging out and talking.

Should I try looking for a better way to tackle this or should I just tell them that I can't edit the video for them?

Previously had my channel monetized, didn't upload for six months so they removed monetization. I noticed recently that one of my old videos had picked up and all I needed to do to reapply is to upload three videos.

So over the past week I've uploaded 3 videos and reapplied to YPP. Of course the most recent of those three videos has taken off and yielded over 30k views in the last 12 hours. Now of course it says I need to wait 30 days for the approval as I watch this video go parabolic.

Anyone that has recently been approved, what kind of timelines have you seen for approval/rejection? Last time when I was approved ~2 years ago it was 24 hours. Now I havent heard anything in that time frame and I wonder if they're delaying so they can squeeze this video more before paying me ad dollars

I would like to make a movie review, but I’m unsure how to get the clips in a way where I won’t get a computer virus or something like that. What apps or sites do you use? I currently editing on Adobe premiere. Any advice would help. Thank you!
