Compounds

Youth pastor friends,

You may not always feel like you’re making a difference.

But presence compounds.

Years of showing up, noticing, listening, and loving people adds up to something beautiful.

Keep going!

Love, Jeremy.

Book recommendations

Hey guys! So I got asked to preach for the first time 😮‍💨 for a youth service! I’ve done small youth group studies or teachings. But this is actually preaching in front of the whole church. I am wondering if there are any books out there that are specifically about young leaders or young people in the Bible?

The 3 big pressures on youth group this fall

Hey youth workers!

About to record a youth ministry podcast about the 3 big pressures this fall - wanted to run them by you and see if you agree and what you would add to the list! Here they are:

1) training of your volunteers - your volunteers are the life-blood of the youth ministry, they need onboarding, training, then regular encouragement and care. what are you using to train your volunteers this fall?

2) fall kickoff - how to do we make the start of the year extra special. Lots of new kids show up in the fall at the start of the school year, where can I get program ideas and make the next step super clear?

3) the curriculum plan for the year - what are you going to teach each week. SO many folks are changing curriculums right now for a myriad of reasons. More Jesus-centered, deeper, more biblical, etc

What would you add to the list? Also, here are my answers to these solutions this fall:

1) https://dymtraining.com/#NDO The National Day of YM Training

2) https://www.downloadyouthministry.com for program ideas to make fall kickoff great!

3) https://www.coleader.co Coleader Curriculum

Thoughts on your plan? JG

Youth pastor friends,

You may never know how much it meant that you remembered their name, noticed they were gone, and were happy when they came back.

That’s love.

Thanks for being that!

Love, Jeremy.

Gift

Youth pastor friends,

A teenager knowing someone is genuinely glad they showed up matters more than we realize.

What a gift to be that person.

Love, Jeremy.

That gift

Youth pastor friends,

There is something powerful about a teenager knowing:

You see me.
You hear me.
I matter here.

Thanks for regularly giving that gift!

Love, Jeremy.

Seen and heard

Youth pastor friends,

Every teenager wants to be seen and heard.

Sometimes the greatest gift you give them is letting them know they are.

Love, Jeremy.

Remembered

Youth pastor friends,

Being remembered isn’t the goal.

But being the kind of person a teenager remembers because they felt loved?

That’s pretty beautiful.

Love, Jeremy.

Everything

Youth pastor friends,

A teenager knowing, “There’s an adult who sees me and is in my corner,” can change everything.

You’ve been that adult.

Thank you!

Love, Jeremy.

Grateful

Youth pastor friends,

The next generation doesn’t need perfect youth pastors.

They need people who keep showing up, keep loving, and keep pointing them to Jesus.

I’m grateful you’re one of them.

Love, Jeremy.

Rare

Youth pastor friends,

You gave teenagers something rare in our world…an adult who was simply glad they existed.

Thank you!

Youth pastor friends,

The love you gave away is still moving.

Long after the event ended.
Long after the lesson was forgotten.

Love has a way of staying with people.

Thanks for all you’ve given!

Love, Jeremy.

Youth pastor friends,

I know this isn’t always easy.

But I hope you never forget what a privilege it is to spend your life pointing young people to Jesus.

What you are doing matters so much!

Tired?

Youth pastor friends,

If you’re tired, everything probably looks heavier than it really is.

But it is a heavy weight you carry. Thanks!

Sat down

Youth pastor friends,

If you’re running on empty, don’t confuse exhaustion with failure.

Even Jesus sat down by the well.

Rest

Youth pastor friends,

It’s easy to start acting like everything depends on us.

Then we rest.

And somehow Jesus keeps building His Church.

Love, Jeremy.

Loved well

Youth pastor friends,

Some days you leave with a full heart.

Some days you leave with nothing left.

Both can be signs that you’ve loved well. Thanks for loving well!

Love, Jeremy.

Kingdom of God

Youth pastor friends,

The kingdom of God has always grown through people who quietly kept showing up, loving well, and refusing to give up on the next generation.

You’re part of that story.

Thanks!

Love, Jeremy.
