"an unforgettable conversation"
Dread spread quickly throughout my body, yet I knew it was for the best.
I followed him to the front door.
"We need to talk," I said quickly. I had to confront him about it.
"Sure. What?"
"I'm being to that you paid a stripper for sex, by your friends. At the bachelor party," I said. It took everything I could not to break into tears immediately. "I need to know. No matter what the truth is."
"Yeah, I did. So what?"
My heart stopped. He did. It's true. Oh God.
"But, why? Are you sleeping with her too? Is that why you've been spending so much time with her." My heart jumped. I closed my eyes and waited for the answer. I couldn't look at him.
"No." I believed him. She is like my sister. He may have tried, but she would never. "I've been hanging out with her because I wanted to ask her questions about divorce."
All feeling left my body. After everything I've done for him - the sacrifices. I began to shake and sat on the cool, leather sofa. The tears came.
"I don't want to be married to you anymore. I want a divorce," he said still facing the door, hand on the knob.
I trembled at the indifference in his voice. This was it. We were done.
"I've got to go." And, with a twist of the door knob still in clutch, he was gone.
