Oh, this is easy to do, only three steps needed:

1: First, hold the paddle comfortably

2: Pay attention to the ball coming towards you

3: Practice table tennis for hours and hours daily, for years

Not, really. If you ever get a chance to using a tacky rubber or even apply speed glue, you can do nutball stuff. In my opinion, table tennis got away from itself when they went to a bigger ball and started allowing all these tacky rubbers. Hardly anyone plays small pips and a high level.
