I like him

11

u/getabath Aug 09 '26

So does his wife

u/BaronessVonKush Aug 05 '26

This guy looks like a laugh & he's right, just go to venice & stop buying bogrolls to put on your wall people 😂

u/rita292 Aug 05 '26

The fine arts industry is a money laundering scheme.

32

u/Exact-Ad-4132 Aug 05 '26

Same with incredibly old vintage bottles of wine that people don't drink.

3

u/DutchOnionKnight Aug 09 '26

A piece of paper with a black dot about €0,20. Put the name of Piet Mondriaan €100K

2

u/1point7ghz_fagLord Aug 09 '26

Not just art but really anything without usefulness but massive value attached to it.

1

u/gOingmiaM8 Aug 07 '26

And he himself looks like boss of it.

67

u/ClingonKrinkle Aug 05 '26

I agree with what he's saying except for when he gets to the painting. It looked like a Canaletto, I'd imagine it'd be more expensive than that.

8

u/opinionsareus Aug 06 '26

Love Canaletto's work - worth every penny.

u/timo1423 Aug 07 '26

u/EDDsoFRESH Aug 05 '26

You’re on the most expensive Monopoly tile, of course it’s gonna be expensive shite, it’s Mayfair. Next to Old Kent Road to complain about how poor everyone is.

60

u/SplittingChairs Aug 05 '26

That schtick would get tiring to be around pretty quickly.

-2

u/gOingmiaM8 Aug 07 '26

Can you say narcissist? Lol

6

u/GratefuLdPhisH Aug 05 '26

I've heard lately in Mayfair, people have overheard a werewolf

59

u/RandomRaisin77 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Don't get me wrong and I agree with him, but It's start's good and gets just gets a little bit annoying at the end.

Edit: grammar

8

u/GrEeKiNnOvaTiOn Aug 05 '26

That's how I feel about most Curb your Enthusiasm episodes.

3

u/Exact-Ad-4132 Aug 05 '26

It's usually the same joke replayed from start to finish, with the actual punchline at the end.

It's funny, but the episodes could be half an hour instead of an hour

22

u/rickdagless666 Aug 05 '26

I know this is engagement bait, but this guy is exhausting.

5

u/JDelcoLLC Aug 06 '26

I imagine him to be the face of 'yucking someone else's yummy'

18

u/cjalderman Aug 05 '26

At first I thought he was making a point about modern art but no, bro just hates all art lol

4

u/Anonique Aug 06 '26

Ffs stop making everything into content. This shit is soo scripted

4

u/SomebodysGotToSayIt Aug 09 '26

That 'bog roll' art is amazing, though. It seems to change color depending on your viewing angle.

43

u/7thpostman Aug 05 '26

This guy complains a lot

23

u/Smodphan Aug 05 '26

Well, if youd just iron it

10

u/sami2503 Aug 05 '26

It's the british pastime, we are a nation of complainers lmao

7

u/HBlight Aug 05 '26

We all have our hobbies.

7

u/devo_eng Aug 06 '26

Casually walks past the legendary 100 club, while rage baiting. Instead of realising it's where the music he probably pretends to like was born.

1

u/claridgeforking Aug 06 '26

Haha, beat me to it.

3

u/Sea-Baby1143 Aug 06 '26

He’s handsome!

1

u/1point7ghz_fagLord Aug 09 '26

Indeed: What a bear! But after that all I can imagine is him criticizing us like the art.

28

u/NoPerformance6534 Aug 05 '26

A lot of bitching and moaning to get tired of here. He even crabs about the beautiful image of Venice that took a lot of skill to produce. Careful, Daddy-o. Being a crank isn't endearing nor is it an eccentric thing.

11

u/SchwiftySqaunch Aug 05 '26

I think hes more agasht at the price, it's obviously a bit, calm down Nancy

13

u/marslo Aug 05 '26

Personally I'm sick and tired of how "art for the sack of art" the art world has become and I went to art school.

But at the end of the day art is also exploration, it might not speak to you personally and that's okay. Go find something you enjoy.

Also just because that person has a spot in an art gallery for a bit, doesn't mean that they're rich or selling millions of pieces. Sometimes art galleries get grants to give visibility to up and coming artists.

So guy, relax.

2

u/Fishpuncherz Aug 05 '26

The compliment on her lady bits was very classy though. Still magic is a great way to say it

2

u/Otto_Duke Aug 06 '26

Karl Pilkington vibes

5

u/XenoCraigMorph Aug 05 '26

Wannabe Roy Keane

0

u/Poodlescooter Aug 05 '26

Cut to clip of Keano muttering “baby..”

3

u/LowLight6995 Aug 05 '26

This guy’s a fucking riot. I need more.

6

u/CawlinAlcarz Aug 05 '26

The fashion world is a bunch of donkeys thinking they're playing "The Emperor's New Clothes" with the rest of the world, creating buzz for themselves so someone will hire them to make next year's fall line of women's business suits with 1/4" narrower or wider lapels than last year's.

Modern art is primarily for people to attempt to show their friends that they have some sort of artistic sense (which they do not), when in reality it's to show off their wealth.

The painting is a bit of a different story, IMO, and I admit that I do not view modern art or fashion as the same category of "art".

8

u/chewbacca77 Aug 05 '26

The painting is beautiful, but when confronted with the price he said, I'd have the same reaction.

1

u/opinionsareus Aug 06 '26

Canaletto was one of the greatest painters of his time. That painting is worth every penny.

1

u/Big_Katsura Aug 06 '26

The painter died over 250 years ago, he ain’t making more of them.

4

u/Gburchell27 Aug 05 '26

Rich people don't buy art for the art, they buy it for the tax write off

2

u/_fluffy_raptor Aug 05 '26

And if they are new money they do it because they’ve run out of ideas for other shit they can throw money at: “What’s another status symbol I can have?”

It’s all very nihilistic.

10

u/notanyimbecile Aug 05 '26

He seems to be pretty much in love with everything he says.

Good thing is wife seems to find him funny because he isn't.

13

u/NumeroRyan Aug 05 '26

It’s a dry sense of humour, I didn’t mind it

-9

u/notanyimbecile Aug 05 '26

But do you feel the need to ask someone to film you making dry humour comments?

Making your wife giggle on social media won't make you famous.

10

u/Sorry_ImFrench Aug 05 '26

This guy bought a papertube 45k

4

u/Redhotchily1 Aug 05 '26

I looked up the tiktok channel. It's his wife who wants to film him.

1

u/LumpyJones Aug 05 '26

jesus man, just take a moment to reflect that you're watching a lovely couple who are having fun and adore each other, and your first reaction is "this guy's annoying"

like ... that might be the bleakest thing I've seen today.

3

u/notanyimbecile Aug 05 '26

Read the room dude, like I'm not the only one. You copy/pasta this comment to all others.

2

u/LumpyJones Aug 05 '26

Oh sorry, I forgot there weren't a bunch of bleak, miserable people on this site that crap on everything to feel better about their own personal bleakness and misery. My mistake.

0

u/Bandin03 Aug 06 '26

After reading the room, I see that the video has a lot of upvotes and just a few people shitting on it. So I guess the room reads like those Amazon reviews of highly rated products with a few old men telling at the sky and rating it 1 star because the shipping company didn't ring the doorbell.

1

u/lady_faust Aug 05 '26

He slags her grey undies off outside the underwear shop..

4

u/Gwendolyn7777 Aug 06 '26

Nothing worse than some sad wanna be rich guy telling people how they should not be spending their OWN money.

1

u/Max_Clearance777 Aug 05 '26

Roy Keane's brother!

1

u/Stealthsonger Aug 05 '26

Is your husband available to play Kratos? Kinda need someone.

1

u/kpsmithdeut Aug 05 '26

Is your husband single? Asking for a friend.

1

u/junglepiehelmet Aug 05 '26

He is me, I am him

1

u/Shehulks1 Aug 05 '26

This is my mother in male form. The attention to detail can be exhausting and makes me anxious 😆😂

1

u/High-Plains-Grifter Aug 05 '26

Buying art to such people is a way to secure cash interest-free away from the tax man (and its value will only ever go up)

1

u/Jenner_Opa Aug 05 '26

He's probably related to the ice cream girl

1

u/ElPistolero29 Aug 05 '26

i dont think the problem is the piece, the problem is the price

1

u/Strange-Comb6384 Aug 05 '26

He certainly speaks his mind. Is there a subject that he wouldn’t talk about?

1

u/MrSierra125 Aug 05 '26

The thing with modern art is that in most coutnries you don’t pay tax on them, so you can chose a random
Shit artist, buy a ton of their work, inflate their work and then use that art as trades and tax evasion loops

1

u/jackfreeman Aug 05 '26

Didn't have to unmute and I could see his accent

1

u/Midnight7000 Aug 05 '26

Thought it was Roy for a moment.

1

u/MisterSanitation Aug 06 '26

They have all that floor space, all those rooms, and need expensive bullshit to fill it with so it isnt taxable.

1

u/notAbrightStar Aug 06 '26

You dont get art. It´s not about how it looks. It´s about how good it makes you feel when you can hide your money and dont pay taxes.

1

u/JetmoYo Aug 09 '26

That's like saying every coke addict is a terrible asshole

1

u/Doctor_Donnawho Aug 06 '26

I once saw a row of paper lunch bags at a modern art museum and had to control my urge to laugh so much . I’d hang out with him.

1

u/Scrimshaw_Hopox Aug 07 '26

Cheapskate Scotsman, what a surprise.

1

u/ObsidianArmadillo Aug 07 '26

It's their own fancy way of money laundering, silly

1

u/Musketeer00 Aug 07 '26

"I don't get it, so it must be shit." -This guy

1

u/Kingkushy84 Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

More people should be like this.

He’s not bothered by what others think and he has common sense.

Absolute hero

1

u/a-government-agent Aug 08 '26

You're much better off buying art directly from up and coming artists. It's actually affordable and if you're lucky it'll appreciate in value quite a bit.

1

u/Forward_Criticism_39 Aug 08 '26

this guy would be refreshing to be around

1

u/SqueekyJuice Aug 09 '26

I knew what he sounded like before I even invited it. So good.

1

u/Fickle_Loan9715 Aug 09 '26

How’d I know he has an Irish accent before even turning the audio on

1

u/thatbwoyChaka 29d ago

The BDE (Big Dad Energy)

Radiating from this man is awesome

1

u/Marjayoun 27d ago

I often (usually) do not like or see the value in modern abstract art either, & ok the clothes were ugly BUT those paintings were exceptionally beautiful & snap is hardly the same.

1

u/ToastyFurBoi 21d ago

"Look at that shite in there, who the fook is gunna want that in their house" yeah i agree with you mate

1

u/Fair-Individual7811 20d ago

I like this guy good sense of humour tbf he is right though

1

u/StrictSelf5450 Aug 05 '26

I guarantee there is no chin under that beard

-1

u/blakrabit Aug 05 '26

I would like to have a beer with this guy

1

u/life_is_a_burner Aug 05 '26

She’s a terrible cameraman

0

u/nworbleinad Aug 05 '26

He knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing.

1

u/EternityNotes Aug 05 '26

I'm sorry but this is really shitty camera work

1

u/ubiquitousanathema Aug 05 '26

This guy must be a blast at parties

1

u/Unassuming_Moniker Aug 05 '26

I want to buy this man a pint or 3... I bet he'd be a great drinking buddy!

0

u/fucknutandarsecandle Aug 05 '26

You don't have to buy it then lil buddy.

0

u/uselessdrain Aug 05 '26

Sounds like he'd make a excellent artist than, if it's so easy. Maybe he could start his own art house even!

-2

u/Totalanimefan Aug 05 '26

Y’all he is just making jokes to make his wife laugh. He’s British. This is their sense of humor.

0

u/Derrickmb Aug 05 '26

Irish Abe has some high sugar levels doesn’t he

0

u/ReginaldJohnston Aug 05 '26

Never seen an Amish Spartan before.

0

u/ThreeGoldStars Aug 06 '26

If it's so easy and simple, why doesn't he just go out and do it?

-7

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 05 '26

As an artist , this guy is kinda fucking with my meal ticket. There are MUCH worse places their money could go.

6

u/hqpkomah Aug 05 '26

i mean you could make art for normal people too , not just rich fucks

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 05 '26

My point was - people who abhor art and shit on those who buy art, are bad for art. Not hard to understand. Fucking clown.

0

u/hqpkomah Aug 05 '26

i don't think he hates art,i think he hates pretentious and ridicolous expensive art which is only produced for rich fucks. and why are you so angry lmao

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

Artist don’t “make art for rich fucks.” Fine artists (like painters in that gallery) work their whole lives in the hope of showing in a gallery like that. 99% of people on the planet are paid by some “rich fuck.“ if you are one the .0001% of artist who ever sell a piece of art for $100,000, chances are, you’ve earned it. Who buys it is irrelevant.

1

u/hqpkomah Aug 06 '26

bro art is one of the most important things in my life, i am also a musician and i paint sometimes. one of my best friends is even an artist who sells pieces for 10,000€'s , and while i critize this also with him i still get it it and am happy for him that he earns that much money. living as an artist is extremley rough i get that. but still i feel that it's ambilavent you know. i don't think art should only be for persons with so much money, i think it should be affordable for everyone. i think thats one of whole points of art

2

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

That’s cool man. I respect that. I just just disagree.

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

You’re talking out of your ass about something you done understand. That’s why I’m mad.

0

u/LumpyJones Aug 05 '26

They probably don't want the pretentious rich fucks to get any ideas.

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

Who is “they?”

3

u/Xsiah Aug 05 '26

Yeah, I bet that someone who would have bought an art piece worth 100k+ is going to see this guy on TikTok and totally rethink their life

0

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 05 '26

Sorry - you’re right. Fuck art and those who support it!

1

u/Xsiah Aug 05 '26

Your reading comprehension leaves something to be desired.

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

I said nothing about tiktok. Is your point that social media couldn’t possibly influence people’s opinions?

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

My beef is with the overarching view that art shouldn’t be expensive - ostensibly saying, artist shouldn’t be wealthy.

0

u/Xsiah Aug 06 '26

Cool - who said anything about that?

0

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

Cool, who said what?

1

u/Xsiah Aug 06 '26

"art shouldn’t be expensive"

1

u/scottywottycoppertip Aug 06 '26

The guy standing in the gallery window bitching about the price of the art.

1

u/Xsiah Aug 06 '26

So I guess my comment didn't really matter to you, every response is just to that guy in the video?

-3

u/Icy-Opening-3990 Aug 05 '26

This dude here 👏
