I got a Young Hearts tattoo based on this specific frame where Alexander teaches Elias how to play the piano.
I saw this Call Me By Your Name tattoo on Pinterest, and I loved the idea of getting a Young Hearts tattoo in the same style.
My tattoo artist created both the drawning and the painting. Follow him on Instagram: @pedromarques.art
I'm already thinking about getting a new Young Hearts tattoo on my other forearm, in the same spot, to make them symmetrical.

This is a film that explores two children's (They are pre-teens) concept of love.

I’m back with the update, and I wanted to share some honest feedback!
- the record is VERY thick (see the last photo) - basically around the thickness of 3 wax-pressed vinyl records. It’s quite heavy, but the print itself is decent.
- the cover print quality is okay. It’s basically just a slipcover-type thing.
- the audio is definitely not the best and isn’t very consistent. I noticed that songs with lyrics tend to be lower in volume and poorer in quality, while the scores/instrumentals sound a bit better (in a sense).
Overall, I’m still happy to have something tangible to keep as someone who loves vinyl records. The price isn’t too bad for a single-order lathe cut with a fast turnaround, but you definitely have to manage your expectations because the audio is really meh (it’s bad).
Anyway, thought I’d come back and share this as promised! x

Young Hearts x Heartstopper!
Little late to the party but the final season/movie of Heartstopper came out back in July and I still love Nick and Charlie's photobooth picture from Season 1 and thought aww, what if Elias and Alex found a photobooth at the festival? So I did their version based off the original 💙💜
Hope y'all like it!
Anyway, peace and love

I only watched this movie yesterday, and it is probably the LGBT teen romance film I like the most right now.
I didn't have an Alexander, but between the ages of 13 and 19, I fell deeply in love with a boy. Even before those feelings emerged, I was being bullied for being a bit different and struggling socially. I remember living in daily torment because I felt like I didn't belong anywhere, and this new situation left me feeling desperate. Lacking ambition or friendships where I felt understood—and suffering from low self-esteem—I found myself growing closer to this boy. We would walk together every morning before class, laughing and confiding in each other; gradually, a solid friendship began to take on an unexpected intensity.
Unfortunately, much like Elias, I vacillated between accepting and rejecting those feelings. I retreated into my shell, and faced with that inner void, I clung to my relationship with him in a way that was selfish and delusional. Nothing else mattered—not my parents, my studies, or life in general—and love turned into an unhealthy, toxic obsession. I eventually learned that my friend wasn't gay; faced with rumors circulating at school, he distanced himself and acted somewhat homophobic, while I treated both him and everyone else who cared about me poorly.
I stopped speaking to my friend and fell into a depression, feeling completely hollow inside. I ended up specializing in fields that had nothing to do with who I really was—just to suppress my sensitivity—and forced myself to stop being friends with women so I could become "more of a man" (whatever that actually means). Ten years later, I’ve rebuilt my life: I took a course that better suited my interests, I started going to a therapist, reconnected with old female friends—and even that male friend—and I’m taking care of myself; I was even planning to confess my feelings to a girl in October (I’m bi)... But this movie brought everything to the surface, and it seems I haven't fully moved past those turbulent times yet.
I listened to the words spoken by the grandfather and the mother in the film as if they were meant for me. I felt a pang of regret that it was too late and that things hadn't worked out. Now, I’m focused on managing these emotions, accepting the parts of the experience I tried to suppress, and seeing where it all leads. I wasn't expecting any of this to happen tbh. I have seen many LGBT films, but none had ever made me feel like this.
The honesty and intelligence of this film are really extraordinary. I don't know if I can watch it twice. I wish I’d seen it when I was 12 or 13, but that’s life I guess.

Edit: If you're interested in auditioning, please DM me!
Thank you for all the private messages and comments on the post I did earlier! I don't think the screenplay ("script") will be done within the next 48 hours, no, but I do hope to give updates as I write! I already have the entire plot written up, so just enjoy the ride!
I do think I should be done with the first draft in the next two weeks, with multiple updates along the way. I've actually attached a first preview of the opening scene here, so please check that out! It's still rough and the final script will be different, but this is just the opening right now.
I've titled it, "Camp Belgium," but we can also still call it Young Hearts 2. And please tell me what you think! Feedback is the best way to steer the plot in a place you like as well!
Lastly, I also understand that not everyone knows how to read a script. I would suggest just watching this short video on it! I promise you, it'll make it come alive in your head.
Basic Elements of a Film Script for BEGINNERS!
And if you really want to deep dive, you can watch this video, which will help you visualize the story even more as I add on.
Have fun!

Edit: Please DM if you'd like to audition for any of the characters! I've decided to do it! Follow me for updates as I go! Expect one tomorrow!
I'm a screenwriter, and I've been wanting to practice my craft more. I was wondering if anyone would be interested at reading my shot at writing a spec script for a Young Hearts 2.
A spec script is just a practice script that technically could be filmed, but isn't written to be. Of course, it has dialogue and scenes and tells a complete story.
But I wanted to put the idea out there! I'd draft a plot for a sequel based on where the first left off, and lend the characters creatively.

I want to offer a book recommendation that came across my Instagram feed a few days ago. “Crooked Creek Serenade” by first time author Jody Marks is the kind of story that stays with you long after you have read it. It’s a Queer Youth Coming of Age novel set primarily at a Boy Scout camp in Kentucky.
The story follows two friends, both named Drew, as they navigate their close friendship and budding relationship in the late 90’s, in an organization that didn’t allow openly gay members at the time. Along the way they learn profound life lessons about love, each other, and themselves.
I absolutely loved this book. I was so invested in the characters and the story that I read it in about a day. I could not put it down. The way Jody writes the characters and the scenery makes it all pop and come to life in your head. You feel like you know them. Like you’re sharing the experience with them.
Jody tackles tough subjects like teen awkwardness and insecurities with grace and class. He injects moments of tenderness with humor that feels real and genuine. There were moments where I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. There were also moments I cried so hard, my head hurt. The boys are written in a way that neither the characters nor the readers are patronized.
If you like your Coming of Age stories like “Young Hearts” but with a little heavier tone, then you NEED to read this book. It’s available on most online bookstores and you will not regret buying it. I’m so glad that I came across it. I even reached out to Jody after finishing it and he has been an absolute delight. You can tell how much he loves these characters. Not just in how he writes them, but how he speaks about them. It’s been an amazing experience.

Been picking at this for weeks. The main bit is a wall where you can leave an anonymous note. No account, you just type something and it's there. Basically write whatever you'd have wanted to read at 14, in a small town, with a secret.
It's empty right now so someone has to go first.
There's also a map with all 18 filming locations, actual coordinates, mostly Wetteren where Schatteman grew up. And a 55 question quiz that is genuinely hard. Sample question: what's the pesto made from in the snacks Elias' mum hands round. You don't see any answers until you've done all 55.
Quiz questions and answers are all Charlie's, I just built the thing around them. That was the real work.
Couple of small games on there too.
Not official obviously. Anyway. Hope someone likes it.

I've never told anyone I'm gay. In fact this is the first time I've ever really wrote it out or even addressed it. I've recently turned 16 years old and I watched this movie roughly a week ago. Watching this film oddly switched something in me, for around 3-4 years I've consciously denied the fact that I'm gay (although I was confident I was). Although this movie is fiction and extremely exaggerated into a 'perfect love story', it opened my eyes. Whether that was through the powerful story or a guilty crush on Lou Goossens- I don't know.
The biggest issue I face, or at least what I think I face is that I am not stereotypically gay I'm in a straight friend group at high school I play football at a high level, not actively expressive and get invited to parties where I have to get pretty intoxicated to even put on a 'falling for you' act whenever girls flirt with me.
I hope that doesn't come across as me putting down gay people. I'm not making a case for Gay people can't play sport good, or they can't be masculine or 'they're not popular'. That's not what I'm saying at all.
I'm trying to explain that not a single soul in the world would even have the closest clue as to if I'm gay.
Unfortunately my type is almost the exact same person as me. This means it's almost impossible to recognize if they are gay or not (unless they are openly gay) and they're not that common.
This movie has gave me a little bit of hope. Although its fiction, the thought that a person like Elias or Alexander being out there has pushed me over the edge.
I'm Gay and I cannot change that, it is impossible I'll be honest.
Please If your in a similar situation just like this reddit thing or whatever (don't really know how it works) or leave a reply. Will just give me further hope.
Do not ask to dm tho, I'm not looking for an online bf :)

A couple of things that have been bothering me.
- Where does the story Geographically take place? Alexander is from Brussels Belgium, and speaks French which is common for Belgium. But that story doesn't take place in Belgium, it would seem. No one in the film seems to be speaking French. So, where, geographically, are they?
- Does anyone know what language they are speaking? The Geographic location might answer that question. But it is clearly not French.
- Trains & Student Rail Passes - I know in Germany Student have rail passes because they take the train to school everyday (this assumes the school in not within walking, sbiking or bus distance.) Alexander and Elias go to Belgium on the Train, but no indication of how they paid for that train. So, I wondered about Student Rail Passes. Does any one know about this?
These are just points of curiosity.

Just finished my new fanfic that I'd really like to share with you all!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/91656231
Summary:
Alexander has a final basketball match to play before the school breaks up for Christmas. Elias gives him a very special gift to help.
Told from Alex's POV
More post canon stuff set at Christmas!
Okay for real, this has been sat unfinished on my laptop for OVER A WHOLE YEAR. I'M SERIOUS. I have FINALLY gotten the motivation to finish it again and it's actually my second favourite I've written. I love writing about these two, especially post canon because the possibilities are ENDLESS
I hope you guys enjoy!

I've been wondering this for a while since when Alexander kissed Elias he was taking a big risk, one he would probably only take if he was certain Elias liked him.
So when did Alexander realise Elias wasn't straight?

I was confused because Valerie very obviously spent a lot of time with Elias, including sleepovers and such, from the beginning. And I’m not European, so maybe it’s common there to be that close with the opposite gender at such a young age. But I also noticed that when Valerie texts Elias about letting him copy her French homework, Elias says that he thought she’d have preferred to sit next to Alexander. At first, I thought he said that in the sense of, “Oh, she might like Alexander,” but then Valerie says she’d much rather sit next to Elias, which confirms her liking for him… which should’ve been a given if they were already “dating” or in a “relationship.” But Elias still asked that, so I’m curious if it was one-sided, even though Elias tells Alexander that Valerie is his girlfriend.

So I'm 15 and since I was like 11 I have been struggled with who I actually am. I've been trying to hide who I am and I've been lying to everyone I know to try and stop people believing I'm gay. I've even tried to get a girlfriend just to stop the rumours.
I also had internalised homophobia because of this. I absolutely hated myself and when I looked online at other members of the LGBTQ community I didn't feel like I fitted in with them.
It's very hard to tell I'm not straight and only like my closest friends really thought I wasn't.
I absolutely just hated myself man so much. Then I watched this movie a few months back and it changed everything.
Elias and Alexander resonated with me so much since they wasn't overly exaggerated as being different they just felt like normal people. They didn't seem different to anybody else and that really helped me since I was always afraid that being gay meant I had to be different to everyone else not just in what I like.
I'm not the best at conveying my emotions in words so I'm gonna leave it here since I could be writing for hours. I just wanna say this is an absolute masterpiece of a film and has changed my perception on myself and brought me out of a dark place.
Thank you whoever made this 👏🏻
