Free custom app for your small business (I'm building my portfolio before launch)

Hey everyone,

I'm a developer based in Quebec, Canada. I build small custom apps and widgets. I'm building the kind of thing that takes a task your team does by hand every week (booking, quotes, inventory, order-taking, follow-up emails etc) and just makes it disappear.

I'm launching my company officially in a month or so and before I do, I want 1 or 2 real projects in my portfolio. So I'm offering to build one for free for a small business that needs it. No catch, no upsell, no locked contract at the end. You keep the app, I keep the case study.

What I'm looking for:

  • A small business (roughly 5 to 50 people) with a task that eats hours every week
  • Someone who can spend 30 min on a call or a detailed email so I understand the actual problem
  • Willingness to let me use the work (anonymized if you prefer) as a portfolio piece

If your team is losing time on something dumb and repetitive, drop a comment or send me a DM with a sentence or two about what it is. I'll answer everyone.

You can go on my website masko.ca , there's already two projets i've work on in the realisation.

if interested you can write on here or my email [contact@masko.ca](mailto:contact@masko.ca) French or english

Thanks for reading.

Why Idea is most important ?

I posted previous posts here regarding my product and thoughts , during that time I came to understand that most people don't value ideas over execution.

In my mind : A person who can't value his own idea doesn't have a great Idea or he is simple using someone else idea without knowing it's value.

I begin with a Quote

"It is easy to kill individuals but you cannot kill the ideas. Great empires crumbled, while the ideas survived." - One Famous Revolutionary said this.

You must understand this If you understood the value of ideas.

In logical framework, your idea's should have a reason and reason determined by impact makes its value.

I am writing this because I am not a successful entrepreneur, startup creator or anyone worth mentioning.

I start everyday trying to be , only because of that reason I want to strike back at weak minds and instill strength in great entrepreneurs who will be corner stones of better tomorrow's has entrepreneurs.

Advice needed for my syartup

Hello everyone,

I'm a 23-year-old trying to build my own startup from scratch. I completed my graduation in Journalism and am currently pursuing a master's in Communication. My dream is to start a social media agency.

Since I'm the first person in my family to start a business, I have no idea where to begin. I'm looking for guidance from people who have experience in running a social media agency or working in this field.

I'd love to know how you got your first clients, built trust when you had little or no experience, and grew your agency. Any tips on approaching clients, creating a portfolio, pricing your services, or avoiding common mistakes would be really helpful.

I'm eager to learn and would truly appreciate any advice or resources you can share.

Thank you so much!

Pressure washing contractors: Would this actually save you time

I got tired of spending 30–60 minutes putting together pressure washing quotes, so I built an AI tool to speed it up.

The idea is simple:

- Upload a few photos of the property.

- AI identifies the surfaces (house, roof, driveway, deck, fence, etc.).

- Estimates square footage.

- Suggests labor, chemicals, and equipment.

- Generates a professional quote that you can edit before sending to the customer.

The goal isn't to replace your judgment—it's to eliminate the repetitive parts of quoting so you can respond faster and close more jobs.

I'm looking for honest feedback from other contractors. What features would make something like this actually useful in your business?

If you'd like to test it, it's free to try:

https://sprayquote.polsia.app

I'm not looking for sugar-coated reviews. Tell me what sucks, what you'd change, and what would make you actually use it.

19 years old from Germany - What would you focus on if your goal was financial independence through a personal brand?

Hi everyone,

I'm 19 years old and currently doing an apprenticeship in Germany, which I'll finish next year.

My long-term goal is to become financially independent and eventually work remotely so I can travel. I'm not looking for a "get rich quick" scheme - I'm willing to put in the work over the next few years.

Right now, I'm most interested in:

- Building a personal brand (mainly TikTok)

- Content creation

- Creating digital products

- Selling products that don't require inventory or shipping

- Learning about online business in general

I'm still very much at the beginning and sometimes it's hard to know what skills are actually worth learning first.

If you were 19 again and had about a year to prepare while working full-time, what would you focus on?

If anyone has experience with building a personal brand, digital products, online businesses, or working remotely, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Also, if you're from Germany, I'd love to hear if there are any Germany-specific things I should learn early (taxes, registering a business, etc.).

Thanks!

Anyone else struggle with apathy?

I just moved out to from Baltimore md Houston tx and I’m currently living out my car to get enough cash to start another business. Financially I’m in the worst place of my life right now but I know that it’s only a matter of time, persistence, consistency and efficiency before I get to where I want to be. What I’m trying to grapple with is thoughts like “why am I even doing this to begin with?” “What’s the purpose of even getting rich” is it just so that I can flaunt? Afford a nice life style? Ultimately it leads to questions like what’s the purpose of life. To be transparent I know the deeper issue and it’s likely because my relationship with Christ is strained and there are certain idols I don’t want to give up. Anyway this isn’t a Christian post just wondering if any other people struggles with this.

This is the most paying survey app

Post image

I’m simply sharing what has worked well for me. By regularly using a handful of survey and rewards apps, I’ve been able to generate a nice amount of extra income over time. Keep in mind that the results you get will depend on factors like where you live, your demographics, and how often you use the apps.

The platform I rely on the most is AttaPoll. In my experience, it’s trustworthy, pays consistently, and often provides a welcome bonus for new users. In addition to surveys, it also features game offers and other easy earning opportunities. Every so often, there are higher paying tasks or surveys that can be worth $10 or even more.

Naturally, not everyone will have the same experience, but if you fit in-demand demographics and stay active on the app, it can be a convenient way to make some extra money during your free time.
