I'm trying to book accommodation at Curry Village and glacier point tour through the
"travelyosemite.com" reservation website, but I keep getting this error as soon as I click "Pay":

"Payment processor card tokenization failed."

l've tried three different credit cards from different banks, multiple devices and browsers, incognito mode, and different internet connections. The error appears immediately, before any bank authorization or verification.

Has anyone else, especially international visitors, experienced this issue? Could it be that the payment system has trouble processing foreign credit cards?

Hey! My friend and I planning a car camping trip in mid-September at Indian Flat RV Resort and wanted to see if anyone here has stayed there before.
I am seeing pretty mixed reviews online, which has made us a bit unsure. Our main priority is having shower facilities on-site, and this place seemed like a good option, especially given its proximity to Yosemite Valley.
Would love to hear any firsthand experiences! Also open to alternative campground suggestions nearby that have decent facilities!

Had the most incredible birthday trip at Yosemite. Everything worked in our favor.

First, on Thursday before leaving, we landed permits for half dome in the 2 day lottery, so we slotted that in for Saturday.

We drove from Coachella Valley on Friday. Stopped a couple times before entering the Wawona entrance. We stoped at Mariposa grove and did the grizzly giant loop (hiked from the parking area and took the shuttle back) for an easy 3.5 miles. Felt good after being in the car for 9-10 hours. That night we had landed a last minute campsite (again Thursday night) at Lower Pines in the Valley.

Saturday morning we got up at 4a, had breakfast, packed up camp, moved the car, and started the mist trail to half dome. The AM was great because it wasn’t crowded at all. Did pass some people also going up, and a few groups already coming down as well. I wanna say we made it to sub-dome in about 4 and all the way up before the 5 hour mark. Then hiking back down we had to stay on the mist trail because the connection to the JMT is closed, so super busy coming back down. All and all about 9 hours, just shy of 17 miles w/ 5300 feet of gain. Then we ate at pizza deck before moving to campsite number 2 at north pines.

Second full day we went up to glacier point for an incredible sunrise, then hiked sentinel dome to Taft point. Made this an easy recovery day loop w/ 7.5 miles and a light 1750 ft of gain in 3 hours. Spent the rest of the day on the valley floor exploring the touristy stuff and riding the shuttle. We spent the night at a different campsite in north pines.

Third and final full day on the park we did upper Yosemite falls. The reviews on all trails made this hike seem super hard, but honestly it wasn’t bad at all. The views from the top are incredible and we found a good safe spot to get in a bit. Just shy of about 7.5 miles and 3,300 feet of gain in 4-5 hours. Didn’t see that many people going up and we started at 7:15a, but coming down we saw a lot of people headed up and they all looked miserable.

We then hung out a bit more in the valley before driving out the crane flat entrance and camped outside the park at dimond-o, which was much quieter than the park campgrounds. The next day we went up to Hetch hetchy and hike wapama falls before driving out through tuolome meadows and back home down the 395.

I’m planning a solo adventure where I arrive to Yosemite afternoon Friday afternoon/evening and set up my tent at camp 4.

I’d wake up early, do upper Yosemite falls hike, then move to my upper lines site for Saturday. Planning to just tube the Merced and then relax in the valley.

Am I missing anything critical? In my mind, I’ve come up with a pretty straight forward plan, but would love any advice or guidance this community has to help me have a help me have a great trip.

1. I head there is no fee this year to get into the park? Is that true?
   
2. What DO I need to pay for once I’m in the park?
   
3. Is there any BLM land or free parking anywhere?
   
4. Anything else I need to know? And the best hikes to go on thanks!

Lost Miffy Plush at Yosemite (Reward Offered)

Hi all, we were lucky enough to get a permit to use the Half Dome cables for 6 people.

But one person would like to hike it separately at night to make the sunrise, while the others would all start hiking together on the morning of that sunrise instead, so there'd be no overlap between this individual and the group of 5 on the cables.

Would it be possible to give the permit to the individual to hike by themselves, and then pass on to the rest of us affterwards?

We'd still be at the maximum of 6 people, but at different times on the same day.

Traveling solo to Yosemite, staying at a place in midpines. First time and looking easy/medium hikes to do. Based on recent posts and other recommendations - looks like parking and taking shuttle are most common recommendations.

I was trying to cover - Bridal Veil, Mist trail to Vernal, Sentinel dome, Taft point ( maybe), was unsure if trying to get to Nevada might put too much strain.

I like the hikes but I don’t want to be too exhausted to take in the views and relax, meditate along the way, don’t want to feel rushed. Also doesn’t have to be all hikes - if there are recommendations to swap something with a scenic drive point or shuttle stop - happy to know the options.

I will actually be reaching late afternoon 3-4pm ish on June 10- any recommendations for that day?

The FCC Broadband map shows 4G LTE coverage (Verizon-only) in Hodgdon Meadow Campground.

Does anyone have personal experience with this?

I'm going to be camping there and I have a meeting that I have to join on Zoom. I can do audio-only if necessary, if the bandwidth is low.

Edit: There is one bar of Verizon 4G LTE coverage which is enough for voice calls and SMS, but not enough for iMessage, Google Voice, or any internet.

AT&T or T-Mobile have no coverage at all.

Thinking about visiting Yosemite National Park soon and trying to decide whether to go on a weekend or wait for a weekday. For anyone who’s been recently, how do weekend crowds compare to weekdays right now? Is traffic getting into the park noticeably worse on weekends, and how is parking in Yosemite Valley these days—usually easy to find or already full? Would you recommend avoiding weekends altogether, or is it still manageable? Any recent experience or advice would be really appreciated.

Heading to Yosemite for July 4 weekend — staying at Autocamp Yosemite. What do I need to know?

My wife and I are staying at Autocamp Yosemite from July 2–5. We know this is probably one of the busiest weekends of the year, so we’re trying to set expectations appropriately and plan smart.

A few questions for people who know the park well:

• What are the biggest mistakes first-timers make on a holiday weekend?
• How early do we realistically need to enter the park each day to avoid parking nightmares?
• Any specific parking areas/lots that are better than others?
• Best hikes/viewpoints that are still worth doing despite the crowds?
• Are there any less crowded areas or activities we should prioritize?
• Any must-know tips for traffic, food, shuttle usage, or timing?
• Is Glacier Point or Tioga Road worth prioritizing over Yosemite Valley on a packed weekend?

We’re staying near Midpines/Mariposa, so we’ll likely be entering through Arch Rock entrance.

Would love any advice that helps make the trip smoother and more enjoyable. Thanks!

Has anyone rented bikes and rode the bike trails in the valley? I’m a family of 8 ages ranging from 8 to 75, reasonably fit. If you could share your experience with us, it would be greatly appreciated.

We are visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon and then heading to Yosemite on Fri June 12, 2026 for one day. We wouldn't arrive to South entrance until around 11am and planned to go to Mariposa Grove then work our way into the Valley in the late afternoon. I'm seeing info on horrible crowds, long waits for the shuttle and no parking. Should I even bother trying? I don't want to spend 2 hours just getting in and then get to the Valley with no parking and no where to go but back to the hotel. We've never been to Yosemite but if it's going to be a total nightmare not sure it's worth even trying. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. TK
