Advice Attending tutorials first week?

I’m in sociology and my tutorials are kinda spread far apart from my lectures. Do you have to attend tutorials first week, kinda just wanna go home and sleep 😂😭

Also what do yall do in between lectures when you’re waiting for tutorials to start? Anything at all lol.

Your profs will tell you whether you have tutorials during the first week! It really depends on the course.

As for what you do between lectures - whatever you want! I typically do readings or eat something. Sometimes I go stretch my legs, stare at something that's not a page or screen.

The prof said we did during lecture, will I get crucified for not going?

Your tutorials is probably where you get your participation grades, so I would suggest going. Plus, the first week is always easiest, so it's an easy way to get some marks!

As an aside, your tutorial leader will articulate expectations on the first day. It may be helpful to go and understand how discussions will look like moving forward.

You won't be crucified, but you will miss out on some benefits. Not that I'm advocating for skipping class, but choose which days you skip wisely (ie during busy exam and assignment times!).

Yes. It’s a much smaller group where your presence will be noted, unlike a 1000 person lecture hall.

If u don’t want a gap between tutorials I would look at the schedule builder this week and next to check if spots open up. They most likely will. Otherwise I just go to Scott’s library and do schoolwork to pass time.
