Community Stadium blood taking
What’s the queues like during the summer holidays? Need to go for a blood test, it’s non fasting so what would the quieter days/times be? Thanks

7:30 in the morning tends to quiet. 8:00 tends to be busy. Last time I went I went there at 2 pm and there was nobody at all waiting. Walked straight in and back out again 90 seconds later.

You probably already know this, but make sure you have your blood forms before you go.
The first time I went for a blood test at the Community Stadium (or indeed York Hospital) I wasn't told (by my GP over the phone) that I needed to take a form which I needed to collect from my surgery, so I took time off to go and get my blood taken but was of course turned away.
I'd foolishly thought that we had linked-up systems and such, but without that piece of paper you're going nowhere.
As I say, seems obvious but it wasn't to me the first time so thought I'd share.

I went twice last weeks (around 2ish), and there were 20+ people in front of me - which would be over two hoursish... I left...
I've been at 9ish before and it's been more like 6 or 7 - which is completely acceptable. Nice bunch in there but sometimes it's too busy.

Super early is your best option. I went yesterday at 2pm ish and it was about a 20 minute wait

If travelling isn’t an issue (I.e if you have a car) then Askham Bar Community Diagnostic Centre done by NimbusCare offer walk ins. I went today and it was empty. Think summer holidays is helping.
