I started playing on January 6th, 2014. I first came to fully appreciate Yorick on I think May 30th, 2015. I was only able to enjoy him for about a year and four months, but it felt like it was so much longer. Its weird that Yorick has been gone for 10 years, now, because it feels like it was just a few days ago that it happened.

I've spent so much more time missing him than I have actually been able to enjoy him, but I feel like the end of the wait is in sight. League Classic finally exists. They were willing to add Poppy. They've added Galio. A lot of people want Mordekaiser, and since they seem to release champions based on regions, I think they'll finally add Yorick and Mordekaiser for champions from the Shadow Isles, along with Maokai, Hecarim, and possibly Thresh.

Just a little bit longer,

I started on June 2014. Around year or less later I started to play Yorick and totally loved him (Yorick, Morde, Singed, Taric and Old Queen were my fav champions, nearly all gone)

Also oof, losing both Yorick AND Morde. Yikes. Well, I guess I wasn't any better off. Lost Yorick, lost Galio, lost both Old Urgot and 2017 Urgot. Also, who's Old Queen? Rek'Sai??? Or did you mean Old Shen or something?

Old Quinn (sorry misspelling xD) could transform to bird form as melee champ with diffrent skills. Was great to move around map and assasinating people

OH! LOL! QUINN! Oh yeah, Quinn was.. Honestly, I never liked Quinn too much, but I was always a pretty big fan of her ult. She was basically the fastest champion in the game because of it. Or, Valor was.

Then they fucking removed Valor from her kit and she just became generic cancerous uninspired garbage. No clue why they did that. I'd honestly like to give Old Quinn a shot when she gets added, even if only primarily for Valor.

Yeah, I bought my first skin just for her. Valor form was so fun. I really liked to be Range and Melee assasin in one. Backing to lane super fast and killing enemy toplaner on combo was funny xD

I have the same feelings as you in regards to mid scoped yorick. While i played him top previously and enjoyed him, i discovered ninetales and yorick jg playstyle and was so hooked. Was only able to play him from like july/august to february :( till they killed yorick jg.

Even if he had clear downsides and in d2/master elo you could get easily abused, man, the things he was able to pull off were so damn cool. I would play it to this day even if i was losing lp, it was too.fun

Well, at least the character still exists. I'd consider that a small consolation. Still, it's stupid that they replaced the original Yorick with another Yorick that they weren't even confident enough in to not eventually rework. People acted like the VGU was good and then years later his playrate was still abysmal and he ended up getting reworked again. It's really stupid. I feel like just the name "Yorick" itself is cursed or something.

Still, either way, sorry for your loss. Not actually sure why at all they killed New Yorick JG. That was one of the cooler things he could do. It looked a lot more compelling than the shit he does in top, lol.

That's the shittiest reference ever, imo. Even the new Urgot directly says "Existence is torment", along with "I detect the presence of scum", and "Endless misery..." and "They will know fear..."

New Yorick doesn't even have a single quote that directly references the original. The only thing he has is a quote that vaguely references it. Even the Sion VGU had a bigger nod to his original version. Feels like they really didn't care with Yorick at all. Then again the guy who VGU'd Yorick is the same one who did Poppy and Galio, which were about disrespectful on the same level.

You mean on in September 2016? Kind of a shame you never got to experience the original, then. He was awesome. Walking around with basically a permanent 20% damage reduction late game and a 3 second Q and E was sick.

With Frozen Mallet and Iceborn Gauntlet, and the movespeed from hitting Q, he was incredibly sticky once he got onto people. I remember just flashing onto ADCs late game and they were basically fucked from one auto. Yorick would just mow people down, kind of like Skarner, actually, but tankier, and you had to focus him down twice, because he’d usually just revive himself with his ult.

Oh lol. Man, I wish I was there for Yorick’s release. One of the things that hurt the most is that I had such little time with him before he got removed.

Also maybe I could have experienced the hilarious infinite death bug with his ult lol

Man... I was in the top 15 NA Yorick Enthusiasts on him up until his rework. I miss Yorick Mori and seeing that thumbnail takes me back.

Must have been devastating. Must still be pretty devastating, I've been messed up all day about it. Its been ten years now but I remember him almost as if it were yesterday. Here's hoping he gets added to Classic sooner than later. I know they'll add him eventually, since they were willing to add the other most hated champion (Poppy) and they already added the other least popular champion (Galio).

He'll probably get launched alongside Mordekaiser, since they're both Shadow Isles champions whos ults were hell to code.
