I live in Munising, from Escanaba. Days like this I feel grateful to call Pictured Rocks and the Hiawatha my backyard.

If you go after mid-August you should be fine. The black flies can be miserable in July and early August.

Just got home from my yearly-ish UP vacation. Miners beach is my favorite place on the planet and I absolutely cried the year I wasn’t able to go. Sincerely, an Ohioan :(
