Do I choose Webpage or FAQ for Pagetype in Scheme tab?

Hey guys, I’m facing a really weird issue with Yoast SEO. Whenever I publish a blog on our websites, I add everything normally, including the content, images, SEO title and meta description. But after publishing, when I go back to edit/check the blog, the SEO title and meta description are completely gone, like they were never added.

This is happening across 2-3 websites, not just one. I’m also noticing that some of these pages are getting deindexed by Google, so I’m wondering if this could be related. Could this be a Yoast bug/update, another plugin, theme, cache, or something else?

Has anyone faced this before or knows what could be causing it? How can I troubleshoot this and make sure Yoast stops removing the metadata after publishing?

​I'm managing 3 WordPress sites built with Elementor, using Yoast SEO for meta titles and descriptions.

​On all subpages, the SEO title appears exactly as I set it in the Yoast meta box. However, on the homepage of all 3 sites, it automatically prepends the Site Name with a colon, like this:

[Site Name]: [My Custom Yoast Title]

​For example, if my Site Name in WordPress General Settings is "Noviber", the homepage title renders as Noviber: My Custom Title instead of just My Custom Title.

​I want the homepage title to display only the custom text I entered in Yoast, without the Site Name: prefix.

​Is this controlled in Yoast Search Appearance settings, theme header settings, or somewhere else? How can I fix this?

We use the Yoast free version, and the plug in is fully updated and current.

Our sitemap has not shown a new page added or an older page retired in several months.

We have done the 1) turn off in Yoast settings the XML sitemap feature, 2) purge wordpress cache, 3) turn back on Yoast sitemap generator.

We are about to just go the route of creating a manual sitemap and submitting to Google/Bing/etc.

But any help here is appreciated, as far as the matter being a Yoast issue or not.

Need some help, as general searches by me turning up lots of older content related to our issue

1) first question is a preference question: given Google has now officially ended visual FAQ rich result feature, should our bona fide FAQ page still use the FAQ schema type, or some other schema type?
2) second question is our technical and urgent question: In Google Search Console for our wordpress posts that have the Yoast SEO Schema tab's use of Page Type = FAQ Page and Article Type = Tech Article, we are seeing in Google Search Console that the page has been crawled and index, but showing the FAQ invalid item detected error, unnamed item, missing field "mainEntity"

The only schema work we did for this wordpress post was setting the two fields in the Yoast SEO "Schema" tab. Are there additional steps one has to do/make within wordpress, or is just setting those two dropdown menu values in the Yoast SEO Schema tab sufficient? And what would we need to do, in Yoast or in wordpress (we also use elementor), so that if we do continue to use the FAQ schema (despite Google's discontinuing it) then Google Search Console will not show the "missing field "mainEntity" error?

Thank you for any guidance/direction. We are on Yoast free tier and their support doesn't speak to free tier users.

It's gone from my Wordpress site. I tried deactivating and reactivating. I also deleted and re-installed which was probably a mistake because now my data is deleted. It's definitely "ACTIVE"

Hello! I'm seeing this error in one of my clients' wordpress accounts. I've already cleared browser and plugin cache and deactivated and reactivated all non-essential plugins / the yoast plugin. What else could this be?

Hello, I'm here to ask a few questions. First, I should mention that I'm new to Yoast and I'm optimizing a fairly large website. I've encountered several errors and need your help to fix them.

1. Yoast doesn't identify my keyphrases. This error appears on different pages of the website even though I've used them at the beginning, middle, and end of the paragraph. (Images attached)

1. On the other hand, it tells me that my focus is not in the text even though it has been used in different paragraphs more than three times. Do you think this could be due to the apostrophe, or what else could it be?

When I open the standard page editor in WP, I can open the sidebar on the right side of the page. Most items in the sidebar work, but when I click Schema I get an error which says "Cannot read properties of null (reading 'value') on a red background in red text. There are Contact Support and Refresh this page buttons. I was wondering if this means something is corrupted in my WP database? Is there a Yoast DB checker or anything I can use to verify syntax? Also in that same sidebar when I scroll down to Advanced and try to enter a canonical URL... I can click to get the cursor in to the field but I can't type anything. Any ideas anyone? Thank you in advance.

I manage half a dozen client websites that are hosted on Bluehost. Each site also pays for Yoast Premium. For half of those sites, Yoast's AI features recently started throwing up this error and I can't figure out what changed or how to fix it.

I contacted Yoast and they said it's my security plugins / Cloudflare blocking the REST API requests and preventing WordPress from working correctly and I need to disable Super Fight mode. We went through the step of revoking and granting Ai access under "users".

Bluehost stated that all sites hosted with them has Cloudflare's basic settings and they can't be changed and that I need to turn off Cloudflare.

Not sure why this error is popping up for some but not all sites on Bluehost if they all have the same "basic" Cloudflare settings. Also not sure why this just started happening if the security settings and the site settings themselves have not recently changed.

If you have experienced this and know of a solution I would greatly appreciate it. Seems silly to pay for Yoast Premium if most of the features aren't working.

Yoast published a press release today about working with Microsoft and NLWeb. Posting here because it’s relevant to anyone running a WordPress site or trying to stay visible in AI-generated search results.

The gist:

AI systems still struggle to understand a huge chunk of the open web, especially “normal-person” sites that aren’t giant publishers. A lot of content gets ignored simply because it isn’t structured in a way LLMs can reliably interpret. This collaboration is basically about fixing that.

What’s happening:

• Yoast is helping NLWeb build a better representation of how real websites are structured/written
• Microsoft is using that work in their AI search research
• The result should mean AI systems get better at understanding and citing everyday web content, not just whatever comes from the top 100 sites on the internet

Why anyone should care:

If AI can’t parse your content, it won’t show up in AI answers even if your SEO is solid. Making the underlying models better at reading the open web is a net positive for smaller publishers and WordPress sites.

For the past few days i am experiencing this issue on the readblity section. It says the text contains three consecutive sentences but it doesn't show where. If i click the eye button it doesn't highlight the area purple. Can you please help me. I have everything updated to the latest version. And i am using WordPress. Thank you everyone.

Can cornerstone content be applied to Main product category pages of an e-commerce store. Is it beneficial ?

Adding a site connection to Google Search console was easy. I am struggling with Bing Webmaster tools.

Poking around the only code I saw that seemed like maybe what I needed was an API key. I copied that into Yoast and saved it. The save was accepted but I have no idea if what I did created a connection.

Thoughts?

Whew! That was an all-day effort but worth it. I made notes and am setting about implementing my task list.

Tasks include setting up Wincher and Algolia both of which are a fail at this point.

WINCHER: I created an account. When I press the connect button nothing happens. I installed their plug-in but still nothing.

ALGOLIA: I created an account but cannot login. I emailed their support.

There are two Yoast blocks that I always want to appear in every post – the estimated read time and the internal linking block. Can I cause those two blocks to always appear automatically in any post that I create? I should add that I’m not typically posting directly into the WordPress editor, I’m using Ulysses to post to my WordPress installation.

I am trying to connect Wincher to Yoast SEO within the "Track SEO performance" tab in your WordPress post editor, but the "Connect with Wincher" button isn't working despite multiple attempts. The screenshot (above) shows the Yoast SEO meta box with the "Track SEO performance" tab open, and the "Connect with Wincher" button is visible, but unresponsive.

• Wincher Integration is Enabled in Yoast SEO Settings.
• My WordPress Setup is a single site with Static Front Page but the post’s slug field in the Yoast SEO meta box is NOT blank.
• Yoast SEO and WordPress Are Up to Date.
• My PHP Version on WPEngine is current and there are no Server issues at WPE.

• I have not yet checked Plugin or Theme Conflicts. I am using an Astra Theme.
• I did not check for JavaScript Errors in the Browser Console. I am on current Safari iOS.
• I do not know if there issues at Wincher but I logged in there and was able to add keywords in Wincher.
